Following its re-activation in January 2013 with releases that included projects by Bill Frisell, Bob James & David Sanborn, Michel Camilo and John Medeski, SONY Masterworks' OKeh Records has announced their next wave of signings. The artists, who are part of the label's 'The Sound of Next' campaign are: saxophonist Craig Handy, Tunisian oudist/vocalist Dhafer Youssef, guitarist Nir Felder, drummer Jeff Ballard, saxophonist James Brandon Lewis, African vocalist Somi, and trumpeter Theo Croker.

St. Armands Art Festival returns with two full days of art, live music, and a free giveaway in honor of its 25th anniversary. This signature, nationally ranked juried outdoor art affair is scheduled for November 9 - 10, 2013. Festival promoter Howard Alan Events has produced this popular show for the past 25 years drawing the finest talent in the country and attracting locals and tourists alike who look forward to the vast array of original artwork on display and for sale. A portion of the proceeds benefits the St. Armands Circle Association. Admission is free and open to the public. 'We are thrilled to reach this milestone,' says festival promoter Howard Alan. His designs have been added to the collections of famous jazz musicians and other public figures, including David Sanborn, Richard Elliot, Kenny Rankin, Dave Koz and President Clinton. Three of today's leading ladies of jazz, Geri Allen (piano), Terri Lyne Carrington (drums) and Esperanza Spalding (bass), also known as the trio ACS, will take to the stage at Segerstrom Center for the Arts today and tomorrow, October 25 and 26 for four performances in Samueli Theater. The 56th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival wrapped up Sunday, September 22 after an outstanding weekend of exceptional performances by debut artists, returning masters and new favorites.
