George Street Playhouse to Host A Conversation with Tyne Daly, 2/25

Actress Tyne Daly returns to the George Street Playhouse stage for a one-night-only event Monday, February 25. The event, first in a planned series of 'Conversations with...' will feature the award-winning actress in a one-on-one conversation with GSP Artistic Director David Saint. In addition to conversing with Mr. Saint, Ms. Daly will also take questions from the audience as well. All proceeds of the event will go toward the support of George Street Playhouse's mainstage and educational programming.

WEST SIDE STORY Comes to Fort Worth's Bass Hall, Now thru 1/20

Presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth, the tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Fort Worth. WEST SIDE STORY will open at Bass Performance Hall tonight, January 15 and run through January 20. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

The tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Boise. WEST SIDE STORY will open at the Morrison Center on March 25, 2013 for four performances. Troika Entertainment Launches National Tour of WEST SIDE STORY at Paramount Arts Center

More than 50 years since the musical, West Side Story first appeared, it has been revived countless times and become a fundamental of musical theater companies of both professional and amateur standing. Although many productions are "attempted", it's very seldom that one is lucky enough to see a production that succeeds in the standards set forth by the original adaptation. Elements frequently missing are age-appropriate casting and the force to make the audience feel the danger within the plot.

Family Performance of AUSTIN THE UNSTOPPABLE Premieres at George Street Playhouse, 11/3

George Street Playhouse's Educational Touring Theatre will present a performance of the world premiere musical Austin the Unstoppable, by Barry Wyner and Daniel Israel, Saturday November 3 at 2 pm. The performance is geared toward students in grades 3-8 and lasts approximately 60 minutes, including a post-play workshop.

Marlo Thomas Joins George Street Playhouse's CLEVER LITTLE LIES

George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint announced today that the theatre has postponed their scheduled production of Clever Little Lies, penned by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro, which was to star award-winning actress Marlo Thomas. Mark St. Germain's critically-acclaimed play The Best of Enemies, originally produced by Barrington Stage Company, will take its place in the New Brunswick theatre's season, running November 29 - December 23.

Alfa Art Gallery to Curate Exhibits at George Street Playhouse

Two New Brunswick-based Arts organizations (aided by a third) have announced a new partnership. Alfa Art Gallery, which has called New Brunswick home since 2008, will partner with George Street Playhouse in presenting a series of rotating exhibits to be presented throughout the Theatre's 2012-13 season. The exhibit, co-sponsored by The New Brunswick Cultural Center, will be changed to correspond with the opening of each of the Playhouse's five productions. Located in George Street Playhouse's Cabaret lobby space, each display will be available to view during regular box office operating hours.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that full casting for their 2012-13 season opener, One Slight Hitch, has been completed. Joining the previously-announced Mark Linn-Baker will be Clea Alsip, Rosie Benton, Lauren Ashley Carter, Scott Drummond, Lizbeth Mackay and Christopher Tocco. Helmed by Joe Grifasi, this tale of matrimonial mayhem will begin performances tonight, October 2 and continue through Sunday, October 28. Opening night, with a dessert reception sponsored by Stage Left and Catherine Lombardi restaurants, will be Friday, October 5.
