Point Park's Conservatory Theatre Presents THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, 3/26-4/3

Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company presents The Light in the Piazza at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse March 26 through April 3. A preview performance is open to the public on Thursday, March 25. The Light in the Piazza was written by Craig Lucas and Adam Guettel; it is directed by Scott Wise with musical direction by Camille Villalpando Rolla and choreography by Jeremy Czarniak.

PARADE, MINSKY'S & More Win LA Drama Critics Circle '09 Awards

The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has announced the winners and special awards for excellence in Los Angeles and Orange County theatre for the year 2009. The 41st Annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards ceremony took place Monday, March 22 at the Colony Theatre in Burbank.

Broadway Onstage Closes THE CRAZY TIME 3/20

THE CRAZY TIME, a crazy comedy by Sam Bobrick, is the 108th live theatrical production to be presented at Eastpointe's Broadway Onstage Live Theatre when it opens on Friday, February 19, 2010. Running Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Select Sundays at 2pm through Saturday, March 20, this topical comedy uniquely tells the tale of an older married man who is smitten by a younger woman and divorces his wife to marry his paramour.

FRANKLY, MY DEAR Debuts at Chaffin's Barn 3/18-4/24

The time is 1939 and Selznick has already begun filming Gone With the Wind, but needs a new script. There's only one writer up to the task - the legendary Ben Hecht. The only problem is that Hecht has never read the book and there's only one week to re-write the script. Selznick locks himself, Hecht and director Victor Fleming (pulled off the set of The Wizard of Oz, which he is also directing) in his office to get the job done.

Carpenter, Graae, Margherita et al. to Star in Blank Theatre's SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE, 4/17-5/23

Casting is complete and rehearsals have begun for The Blank Theatre Company's third and final production of its 19th season, Michael John LaChiusa's See What I Wanna See. Directed by The Blank's Artistic Director Daniel Henning, with musical direction by David O, See What I Wanna See will begin preview performances on Saturday, April 10, 2010 and is set to open on Saturday, April 17 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, May 23.
