Peak Performances is pleased to welcome back Doug Elkins, whom The New York Times calls "one of the most witty, musical and inventive choreographers of his generation," and his company, doug elkins choreography, etc., in an evening-length program of new and acclaimed works, April 20-23 at the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University.

Theatre for a New Audience will present the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Happy Days. Two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets over Broadway) plays Winnie, widely considered modern drama's pinnacle female role, alongside Jarlath Conroy, who plays Willie, directed by Yale Repertory Theatre Artistic Director James Bundy.

The Signature Theatre world premiere production of The Antipodes, written by Residency Five playwright Annie Baker and directed by Lila Neugebauer, has been extended by one week for a second time.

The New Group has announced that Dolly Wells will join Noah Bean, Norbert Leo Butz, Jon DeVries, Alex Hurt, Zosia Mamet, Jonny Orsini and Grace Van Patten in Hamish Linklater's The Whirligig.

Gyuri Sarossy (The Rover RSC, Two Noble Kinsmen RSC, The Absence of War Headlong) and Candy Ma (Project New Earth, Chinese Arts Centre and Yellow Earth Theatre) have been announced to lead the talented bilingual cast of Chinglish. Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize finalist David Henry Hwang returns to Park Theatre with the European premiere of his Broadway hit Chinglish following the sell-out success of Yellow Face (Park Theatre 2013, National Theatre 2014).

The helicopter is real this time, as is the Asian heritage of the leading man, as Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's MISS SAIGON lands at the Broadway Theatre once more. Laurence Connor does a solid job of mounting producer Cameron Mackintosh's newest version, with three of its West End stars crossing the Atlantic to make their Broadway debuts.

This year's Rough Draft Festival at LaGuardia Performing Arts features six new plays that are in the pre-production stage of development. Each of the plays has gone through readings and workshops in the past and the writers Melis Aker, Scott Barrow, Leila Buck, Kevin Doyle, Joey Merlo, Kyoung Park and their plays are ready for the next step.

"The greatest of evils and the worst crime is poverty," declared George Bernard Shaw in the introduction to his famous play "Major Barbara". Written in 1906, this deliciously provocative comedy is the next offering in the Syracuse University Department of Drama season. Performances in the Storch Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/Drama complex begin March 31, with the official opening night on April 1.

Casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the Signature Theatre production of Venus, written by Residency One playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Obie Award-winner Lear deBessonet.

Broadway at The National announces its 2017-18 season featuring the anticipated world premiere of the Broadway-bound new musical Mean Girls, with a book by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey based on her screenplay for the Paramount Pictures film, the return of Cameron Mackintosh's new production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon Les Misérables, the only area appearance of the one-of-a-kind internet sensation The Piano Guys, the Washington premiere of the hilarious smash hit comedy Something Rotten! and the Washington premiere of Waitress with music by six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, has announced the cast and creative team for Next to Normal, which begins performances on May 12 and runs until June 11, 2017, with opening night on May 17.

I am extremely excited to be a part of the European premiere of Chinglish, because with the current political climate, a play like this that celebrates diversity is important now, more so than ever. I play the role of Bing, a translator who hardly translates, and also, Xu Geming, a judge who wants to lead the city of Guiyang to new heights.

The Public Theater presents the world premiere of Ethan Lipton's The Outer Space, directed by Leigh Silverman. Theater Breaking Through Barriers, who scored a hit this past summer with Samuel D. Hunter's The Healing, will kick off its 38th season with the World Premiere of THE OTHER PLAYS: SHORT PLAYS ABOUT THE OTHERNESS IN OUR SOCIETY, a bill of new short works by playwrights Dennis A. Allen II, Bekah Brunstetter (a Writers Guild Award nominee for This Is Us), Lameece Isaaq, Neil LaBute and Tatiana Rivera. This evening of short plays exploring the themes of race, religion, sexual identity, and social otherness begins previews on March 10 at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at The A.R.T./New York Theatres. Opening night is set for Thursday, March 16.
