Producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Blackare have announced complete casting for the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of Farinelli and the King, starring three-time Tony Award-winner (Twelfth Night, Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies) Mark Rylance.

Born out of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004 in a genius moment by David Bates, owner and producer of The Famous Spiegeltent, La Clique has gone on to global acclaim and sell out audiences across the world, including Sydney, New York, Montreal, Brighton, Adelaide, London and of course Edinburgh.

Not only is OKLAHOMA! celebrated as the inaugural collaboration between theatre icons Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, but it's also credited as the first "book musical," a musical play where the songs and dances are fully integrated into the context of the show. Based on its reputation as an easy-to-produce, family-friendly favorite, OKLAHOMA! is a staple among theatres across the country. This season, the show happens to appear in several local line-ups, and last Thursday I rode my surrey out to Farmer's Branch to catch the final dress rehearsal of Firehouse Theatre's endearing production.
