According to the Washington Post, Signature Theatre's 2013-14 season will include three world premiere musicals, one world-premiere play, a developmental run of a world-premiere musical, and revivals of Miss Saigon, Gypsy and The Threepenny Opera. Signature's Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer will be directing all four of the new musicals, as well as Miss Saigon.

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival continues its Thirty-Second Season with a play-reading marathon today, February 23, 2013, at The Vagabond Players, 806 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 (www.vagabondplayers.com). Starting at 11:30 a.m., plays to be read are The Good News, by Matthew Buckley Smith, directed by Kwame Bey, followed at 2:00 p.m. by The Prognosis, by Patrick J. McGeever, directed by Steve Goldklang, and at 3:00 by Peep Show, by Ivan Taub, directed by Rodney Bonds. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.

Fells Point Corner Theatre will present two hilarious comedies by James McLure on our Sokal Stage, opening tonight, February 15th! LAUNDRY & BOURBON is the story of three discontented and gossiping small-town wives, whose marriages are less than ideal, but strong friendship and a splash of bourbon see them through. LONE STAR is a side-splitting study of three Texas 'good ole boys' on a Saturday night carouse, which takes place in the cluttered back yard of a small-town Texas bar.

Composer/lyricist Neil Bartram and book writer Brian Hill, Drama Desk Nominated authors of Broadway's The Story of My Life, will workshop their newest musical Something Wicked This Way Comes, adapted from the novel by Ray Bradbury, with the Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre at the University of Oklahoma in October 2012.
