For many San Diegans, their ability to understand and appreciate the wonders of the Bard during our Summer Shakespeare Festival has increased exponentially since they joined us for Thinking Shakespeare Live!, a 90-minute exploration of the language of Shakespeare led by Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and assisted by three professional classical actors.
Each year, a select group of talented high school students participate in the Summer Shakespeare Intensive. This four-week program, which guides students through workshops and rehearsals, will culminate with a public performance of two, one-hour versions of Shakespeare's plays, Love's Labor's Lost, directed by Ray Chambers, and The Tempest, directed by Vivia Font, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, on Monday, August 10 at 7:00 p.m.
In celebration of his 100th birthday this year, The Old Globe will honor Founding Director Craig Noel and his many contributions to the world of theatre and the culture life of San Diego with Craig100, a special evening of memories and performances, on Monday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the West Coast Premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a new work by one of America's great comic playwrights, familiar to millions for Lend Me a Tenor and Crazy for You. Baskerville is directed by Josh Rhodes, who previously choreographed the Globe's productions of Bright Star and Working, as well as Broadway's It Shoulda Been You, First Date, and Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella.
