OSF's Allen Elizabethan Theatre Opens Today

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival opens its outdoor theatre the weekend of June 13-15 with two Shakespeare productions, Richard III, directed by James Bundy, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Sarah Rasmussen. Also opening is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Into the Woods, directed by Amanda Dehnert. The shows will close the weekend of October 10-12.

OSF's A WRINKLE IN TIME Opens 4/20

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will open its sixth production of the 2014 season in the Angus Bowmer Theatre at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20. A Wrinkle in Time, based on the book by Madeleine L'Engle and adapted and directed by Tracy Young, will run through November 1.

The Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 2014 preview performances begin tonight, February 14, and the season will open Friday night, February 21 in the Angus Bowmer Theatre with Shakespeare's The Tempest (director, Tony Taccone). Tim Bagley, Stephanie Beatriz, and More Join SMALL CRAFT WARNINGS Benefit, 7/29

HERO Theatre announced the full cast for their benefit staged reading of Tennessee Williams' "Small Craft Warnings" to be led by Emmy Award winner William H. Macy, star of Showtime's Shameless and Joe Manganiello of HBO's True Blood and feature film Magic Mike. The cast includes Tim Bagley, Stephanie Beatriz, Elisa Bocanegra, Dan Donohue, Brent Jennings, and Sam Murphy. The director is John Frank Levey. The benefit will be held on Sunday, July 29 at 6pm at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, CA and will include a silent auction.

The world premiere of acclaimed actor/writer Alan Alda's Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie, a bioplay about the passions and conflicts of the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, will extend for an extra week in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse and will run through Sunday, December 18, 2011. Original cast members, helmed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, including Anna Gunn, most recognized by television audiences for her role on AMC's Breaking Bad, as the title character John de Lancie, best known to Star Trek fans as 'Q' and acclaimed stage actors Hugo Armstrong, Dan Donohue, Leonard Kelly-Young, Natacha Roi and Sarah Zimmerman will stay on for the extension week.

The world premiere of acclaimed actor/writer Alan Alda's Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie, a bioplay about the passions and conflicts of the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, will feature Anna Gunn as the title character. Gunn has previously appeared at the Geffen Playhouse in the world premiere of Donald Margulies' Time Stands Still and is most recognized by television audiences for her role on AMC's Breaking Bad. Joining Gunn on stage is John de Lancie, best known to Star Trek fans as 'Q,' and acclaimed stage actors Hugo Armstrong, Dan Donohue, Leonard Kelly-Young, Natacha Roi and Sarah Zimmerman. Helmed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, Radiance: The Passion of Marie Curie opens in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse on November 9, 2011.

Actor Many Beth Fisher Named One of Eleven Inaugural Fellows

Ten Chimneys Foundation, the National Historic Landmark estate of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, has chosen Mary Beth Fisher as one of its eleven inaugural fellows to participate in the LUNT-FONTANNE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM, a groundbreaking national program to serve regional theater actors and the future of American Theater. Fisher, who was nominated by Goodman Theatre, will receive a cash fellowship and participate in an intensive week-long master class and retreat at Ten Chimneys with a world-renowned and respected master teacher; acclaimed actress Lynn Redgrave will be the first master teacher in the Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program. In addition to a prolific, award-winning career on Broadway, in London, and in film and television, Ms. Redgrave was named in honor of Lynn Fontanne - making her a particularly meaningful choice to launch this important program.
