South Coast Repertory will open its 2009-2010 season with a celebration of the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will shine the spotlight later in the season on the up-and-coming musical theater composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon. The season lineup includes World Premieres by Bathsheba Doran, Julie Marie Myatt and Howard Korder, and a West Coast Premiere by Noah Haidle.

A NIGHT AT THE OPERETTA featured Alexander Gemignani, Lisa Howard, William Michals, Jennifer Hope Wills, Christine Andreas, Bill Daugherty, Brian Charles Rooney, Karen Murphy, John Easterlin, Jason Graae and Milla Ilieva. The show featured the dance talents of Eric Sean Fogel, J. Austin Eyer, Billy Harrigan Tighe, and Ben Franklin. The show is under the direction of Dan Foster with musical direction by Fred Barton

Such original Broadway cast members include Kay Cole, Patricia Garland, Sammy Williams (Tony Award), Ronnie Dennis and Nancy Lane who will be joined by join other Broadway A Chorus Line alumni Matt Zarley, Christina Saffran Ashford, Kathryn Wright, Kevin Spirtas and DeLee Lively, as well as cast members Alisan Porter and Brad Anderson from the 2006 Broadway revival, plus touring and regional cast members Theresa Hayes, Tara Radcliffe, Jill Townsend, Geoffrey Kidwell, Laura Nickerson, Russell Nickerson, Luis Avilla, Craig Donnelly, Ty West, Brittany Carson and many more. Los Angeles Ovation Award winner Gerald Sternbach serves as Musical Director.

'Fractured Broadway 2' produced by Ronn Goswick, Executive Producer and Director of the Valley Musical Theatre (which just completed its second year of operation), was a sold-out success on June 11, 2007 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, CA.
To close their 37th season, TheatreWorks tackles 'Merrily We Roll Along,' the self-proclaimed Broadway flop. They deserve a pat on the back. Just don't do it again.
