United Solo Theatre Festival Presents SPEED QUEEN, 11/8-11

The United Solo Theatre Festival will present 'THE SPEED QUEEN,' based on the novel The Speed Queen by Stewart O'Nan, adapted and performed by Anne Stockton and directed by Austin Pendleton for one performance only on Thursday, November 18th at 8:30 pm. The performance is part of the larger United Solo Theatre Festival presenting the works of 47 solo artists running November 8th through November 11th at Theatre Row. All tickets are $18.00 and can be purchased at Theatre Row box office, on line at Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. 'The Speed Queen is being presented at Theatre Row's The Studio Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street (Between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Penguin Rep Presents MRS. MANNERLY, 10/1-24

Penguin Rep Theatre closes its 33rd season with the New York premiere of MRS. MANNERLY, a comedy by Jeffrey Hatcher, October 1 through October 24 in Stony Point, New York. Directed by Penguin Rep artistic director Joe Brancato, MRS. MANNERLY stars Diane Ciesla and Mark Shanahan.

Charlotte Street's Urban Culture Project Presents HIP HOP IS UNDEAD, 11/5

In neighborhoods from coast to coast, fallen rap heroes like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G and Big Pun are immortalized in painted murals. Using visual arts to honor hip-hop's dearly departed, Hip-Hop is Undead -Friday November 5, 6-10pm at la Esquina, a Charlotte Street Urban Culture Project venue-unites the feel of those organic, street-art tributes with a traditional Dia de los Muertos-style celebration.

Shannon to Lead Wright's MISTAKES WERE MADE at Barrow Street; Opens 11/14

Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter, who presented the critically acclaimed landmark production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, will next present the New York premiere of the new comedy, Mistakes Were Made, by Craig Wright with direction by Dexter Bullard. The two-character play features Academy Award-nominee Michael Shannon as producer Felix Artifex and Mierka Girten as his assistant Esther, and reunites the creative team of the Off-Broadway smash hit Bug (Bullard, Shannon and Barrow Street). The 16- week limited engagement will begin performances Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Barrow Street Theatre. Opening night is set for Sunday evening, November 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Richard Dreyfuss Leads Culture Project's IMAGINING HESCHEL, 11/4 - 11/28

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) will present the world premiere of Imagining Heschel, a new play by Colin Greer, directed by Larry Moss, who was last represented Off-Broadway by his acclaimed production of Syringa Tree. The two-character play will feature actors Richard Dreyfuss and Rinde Eckert. Performances begin at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, NYC) on Thursday, November 4th, 2010, and continue through Sunday, November 28th, 2010, for 20 performances only. An official opening night is set for Monday, November 8, 2010.
