Citytv Unveils 2012-13 Prime-Time Schedule

Citytv's 2012-13 fall and mid-season prime-time schedule, showcases 9 new comedies, 4 new dramas, 1 hit reality franchise series, the acquisition of late-night's 'it' show, and the triumphant return of award-winning journalist - and fan-favourite - Katie Couric to daytime television.

Bay Street Theatre's All Star Comedy Showcase & Ivy League of Comedy Set for 6/11 & 18

Sag Harbor, New York's Bay Street Theatre has announced two nights of comedy, beginning with THE ALL STAR COMEDY SHOWCASE on Monday, June 11 and continuing with THE IVY LEAGUE OF COMEDY on Monday, June 18. Both shows begin at 8 pm. Tickets are $25 per show and are available online at www.baystreet.org or by calling the Box Office at 631-725-9500.

AMERICAN IDOL Finale Puts FOX On Top

The two-hour season finale of AMERICAN IDOL (20.71 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.1, #1) not surprisingly put FOX (20.71 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.1, #1) on top for the final night of the 2011-12 season. Said broadcast however was down 31.46% from last year's finale among adults 18-49.

AMERICAN IDOL Hits Ratings High for May Sweeps

FOX dominated the competition on Wednesday thanks to a two-hour AMERICAN IDOL. Said numbers marked the highest-rated telecast so far during the sweeps period among adults 18-49 and its highest total viewers in seven weeks.

ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL Upsets Jay Leno With First-Ever Ratings Victory

Despite its later time period (M-F 12am), ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE beat NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (M-F 11:35pm) by 4% in Adults 18-49 on Thursday, marking JKL's first-ever in-season victory over the NBC late-night program.

On June 10, 2012, The Actor's Fund will present its 16th Annual Tony Awards party at the Skirball Center, this year honoring Jason Alexander with the Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement.. Scott Bakula will host the gala and this year's Honorary Celebrity Committee includes: Julie Bowen, Nancy Dussault, Dann Florek, Elliott Gould, Steve Guttenberg, Garry Marshall, Chita Rivera, Susan Sarandon, Holland Taylor and Zachary Quinto. The event includes cocktails and a silent auction followed by ainner and a live telecast of a live feed of the Tony Awards as they happen in New York.

Ratings Slide for AMERICA'S GOT TALENT With Howard Stern

Bringing in shock jock radio host Howard Stern as a judge on NBC's AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, did not to much to boost the ratings of the long-running talent competition. Monday's Season 7 premiere earned 10.3 million viewers and a 3.6 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic - down from last year's 4.2.

Tim Meadows Plays Side Splitters Comedy Club, 5/17-20

Born in Highland Park, Mich., and raised in Detroit, Meadows studied television and radio broadcasting at Wayne State University before performing improvisational comedy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon. In 1985, Meadows relocated to Chicago, where he first joined ImprovOlympic, and then the legendary comedy troupe Second City. During his three-years at Second City, he wrote and starred in productions of The Gods Must Be Lazy, with Chris Farley; It Was Thirty Years Ago Today; and Flag Smoking Permitted in Lobby Only, gaining a loyal following with his sharp comedic talent. In 1991, Meadows achieved the dreams of comics nationwide when producer Lorne Michaels asked him to join SNL as a featured player. Nominated for an Emmy® as part of the show's writing team that same month, he later made the transition to cast member status two years afterward.
