The Pasadena Playhouse adds to the excitement of this year's Panto at The Playhouse production of PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL - A PIRATES CHRISTMAS with special Peter Pan and Tinker Bell breakfasts on select days (which can be enjoyed with or without tickets to the show) and, as a way of giving back to the community with the record-breaking success of this year's production, a one day only, Pay-What-You-Can Lottery on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.  

The Pasadena Playhouse and Lythgoe Family Productions (LFP) recently opened Panto at the Playhouse PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL - A PIRATES CHRISTMAS. The cast features Sabrina Carpenter as 'Wendy' ('Girl Meets World', Hollywood Records recording artist), Kevin Quinn as 'Peter Pan' ('Bunk'd,' Season 12 of 'American Idol', 'Adventures in Babysitting'), Nikki SooHoo as 'Tiger Lily' ('The Lovely Bones,' 'Bring It On: Fight to the Finish' and 'Stick It'), Corey Fogelmanis as 'John' ('Girl Meets World'), and August Maturo as 'Michael' ('Girl Meets World'). For the last few years the uber talented Lythgoe family have been entertaining us at Christmastime, first at the El Portal in NoHo and now at the Pasadena Playhouse with a British style panto. A panto is an interactive entertainment that starts with a very contemporary retelling of a fairy tale such as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, or in this case Peter Pan and turns it into a fun imaginative show with music that will appeal to both children and their parents. There's usually an actor in drag - none here, and a villain (John O'Hurley as Captain Hook) ... and audience are encouraged to root for the heroes and HISS loudly at the villains. O'Hurley merely needs to turn on that magnificent voice to seize control of the audience, after which kids and adults boo and boo some more. It's all in amusement, of course, and this year's Peter Pan and Tinker Bell A Pirate's Christmas is all good fun with an excellent cast, some fine pop singing and fast-paced dancing... and, first and foremost, a pleasant script by Kris Lythgoe. I feel that some elements of the traditional Peter Pan telling should have been left in tact. For whatever reason, Lythgoe made some less appealing changes.

The Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director) announced today that Wilshire The L.A.F.D. Fire Dog, will play the role of "Nana" in this year's Panto at The Playhouse production of PETER PAN AND TINKER BELL - A PIRATES CHRISTMAS for one day only, on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Wilshire, a Dalmatian, has served as the L.A.F.D. Fire Dog since he was taken in as a rescue puppy by the firefighters at the Wilshire Blvd. fire station on St. Patrick's Day, 2006.

Following a critically acclaimed world premiere opening September 12th at Burbank, California's Grove Theatre Center, Welcome to My World starring Sami Staitman has been extended through October 4th at the Grove Theatre in Burbank, CA. BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling was on hand for the opening to talk to the young Ms. Staitman; close friend and Disney Channel series star Corey Fogelmanis (Girl Meets World); and the show's Grammy Nominated Producer/Director/Writer/Composer Bruce Kimmel. The first ever one-girl musical written for and about a fourteen-year-old, has also just completed recording sessions for the Kritzerland Records release of the show which will feature all 14 songs from the score, plus a bonus track of 'Everything is Going to be Alright' recorded by Fogelmanis who, during opening weekend, was on hand for a private Meet & Greet with fans who supported the production.

Furthering its commitment to kids and families, Disney Channel will present a special episode of the family comedy series 'Girl Meets World' that delivers both entertainment and information for kids and parents about Asperger's syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder.

Welcome to My World, starring Sami Staitman, is the first ever one-girl musical written for and about a fourteen-year-old. The musical will have its world premiere tonight, September 10, and continue through September 27, 2015 at the Grove Theatre in Burbank, CA. The official Press and Gala opening will be September 12th at 8pm.

The musical will have its world premiere September 10 and continue through September 27, 2015 at the Grove Theatre in Burbank, CA. The Disney Channel's Corey Fogelmanis ("Farkle" on Girl Meets World), who appears as a Special Guest on the show's upcoming Kritzerland Records' CD Cast recording, will be on hand opening weekend for a private Meet & Greet with fans who have donated to the production. The show is created and directed by prolific Bruce Kimmel, surely no stranger to LA theatre.
