James Black to Star in DEATH OF A SALESMAN at Alley Theatre, 9/28-10/28

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the Alley Theatre's production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller and directed by Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd, begins performances Friday, September 28, opens officially Wednesday, October 3, and runs through Sunday, October 28 on the Hubbard Stage.

Bucks County Playhouse Announces LOVE LETTERS Benefit, Starring Tyne Daly and James Earl Jones

Bucks County Playhouse has announced a special two day engagement of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, starring theatre, television and film legends Tyne Daly and James Earl Jones. Love Letters will be performed on Saturday, October 20th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). Following the Saturday evening performance, there will be a benefit reception underwritten by The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm (barleysheaf.com) to honor the cast and raise money for the Playhouse.

Bucks County Playhouse Announces Thursday Talkback Series

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) Producing Director Jed Bernstein has announced he will be leading a special Thursday matinee talkback series featuring a selection of cast members, to follow 4:00 p.m. performances of Barefoot in the Park on Thursdays, August 16th , August 23rd and August 30th. Ticket holders are invited to stay after the show to get behind the scenes scoop on the production and the re-opening the Playhouse, plus the latest news on upcoming fall events. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE to Open at Bucks County Playhouse, 12/13

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) has announced its much anticipated 2012 holiday production, the third show of this inaugural season. It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry will run from Thursday, December 13th through Sunday, December 30th at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street).

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) will present their July Cabaret Series and "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music" this weekend. Broadway and television actor Jason Kravits (Relatively Speaking, "The Practice") will host "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music", a little over one week after what would have been Oscar Hammerstein II's 117th birthday, tonight, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). The presentation will be preceded by a special outdoor BBQ Style dinner hosted by Hamilton's Grill Room beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Circle in the Square's Theodore Mann to Be Remembered with New Tribute Page

As a special homage to Theodore Mann, Circle in the Square's co-founder, artistic director, and co-producer who passed away on February 24th of this year, Circle in the Square Theatre School is inviting the theater-going public, the theater community and those who worked with him to share their remembrances of Mann and the over 175 productions that he with Jose Quintero, and later with Paul Libin brought to the stage.

Photo Flash: Bucks County Playhouse Celebrates Re-Opening, Launches A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING

Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II). Bucks County Playhouse Extends A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING Through 7/29

The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the extension of its first production of the summer, Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. Performances begin Monday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m. and will now run an additional week, through Sunday, July 29.

After touring in Richard III with Kevin Spacey in The Bridge Project, an ambitious transatlantic endeavor between The Old Vic, Brooklyn Academy of Music and Neal Street Productions, Maureen Anderman returns to the Westport Country Playhouse in the upcoming production of The Year of Magical Thinking, Joan Didion's play based on her National Book Award winning memoir of the same name.

Women's Project Presents World Premiere of WE PLAY FOR THE GODS, Now thru 6/23

Women's Project will end its 34th season with an off-Broadway show of epic proportions when seven playwrights, four directors, three producers and five actors collaborate on one world premiere play titled from the famous Ellen Stewart quote We Play for The Gods. We Play for The Gods stars Annie Golden, Amber Gray, Alexandra Henrikson, Irene Sofia Lucio and Erika Rolfsud. It opens tonight, June 11, at 7:30pm for a run through Saturday, June 23, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

he Bucks County Playhouse, which launches its inaugural summer 2012 season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing on July 2nd will present the worldwide smash hit "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music" on Sunday, July 22nd as it continues its re-opening celebration.
