Tony Winner Bernadette Peters' 'Stella Is A Star' Set for Publishing in 2010

Broadway star, Tony, Grammy and Golden Globe Award winner, Bernadette Peters will pen a second children's book, Stella is a Star, set for publishing and release in the spring of 2010 by Blue Apple Books. The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Proceeds will go to Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and Mary Tyler Moore over over 10 year ago in support of animal shelters.

Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters will guest star on the popular talk show 'Live with Regis and Kelly' on Thursday, November 5th. Peters will discuss her upcoming performance at the Minskoff Theatre on November 9th. The concert will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as well as Broadway Barks. The show will air on ABC (channel 7) in the NYC area from 9:00am to 10:00am EST.

The legendary songwriter Johnny Mercer's 100th birthday would have been November 18, 2009. Celebrations of his musical legacy, which encompassed more that 1500 songs and countless awards, continue through November with the publication of 'The Complete Lyrics of Johnny Mercer', the premiere of 'Johnny Mercer: The Dream's On Me' on TCM, all-star performances at New York's Carnegie Hall and 92nd Street Y as well as in Chicago and Savannah, and the unveiling of a life-size statue in his Savannah hometown, as well as the debut of Johnny Mercer YouTube, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Rosie Perez Joins McCormack, Walter, Rea and Lahti In New Season Of Law & Order: SVU

TV Guide is reporting that Rosie Perez has been added to an already starry list of guest stars for the return of Law & Order: SVU, which begins its season on September 23. Previously announced was the news that Eric McCormack, Jessica Walter and Stephen Rea will guest-star in the new season of Law & Order: SVU. The theatre performers will join Christine Lahti, who was previously announced to be joining the show as a new Assistant District Attourney.
