According to her website, Bernadette Peters, who was most recently seen performing in New York in her sold out Broadway Barks benefit concert, will be playing at a variety of venues around the country for her upcoming tour, which kicks off next year. The two-time Tony winner will perform a wide variety of tunes from her vast theatre repertoire.

Variety is reporting Morgan Freeman will be awarded the Board of Governors Award from the American Society of Cinematographers. The award will be given at the 2010 ASC Awards for Outstanding Cinematography Award Ceremony on February 27th.

President Obama will award the 2009 National Medal of Arts and National Humanities Medal to 20 honorees in the East Room. The First Lady will also attend. The President will deliver remarks and present the awards to the following individuals and organizations:
