Happy Birthday, Stark Sands! In 2007, Sands received a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway revival of Journey's End. Additional theater credits include the 2009 musical adaptation of Bonnie & Clyde at the La Jolla Playhouse, The Classic Stage Company's production of The Tempestwhich earned him the Actors' Equity Foundation's St. Clair Bayfield Award, which honors the best performance by an actor in a Shakespearean play in the New York metropolitan area. From June 25 to July 12, 2009, Sands appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park's production of Twelfth Night, featuring Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald and Raul Esparza. Sands played the role of Tunny in the Broadway production of American Idiot. Most recently, Sand received a Tony nomination for playing Charlie Price, in the musical Kinky Boots, which opened on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4, 2013.

MOSES, THE AUTHOR, a world premiere comedy by Andrew R. Heinze, has been chosen to be presented as part of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival ENCORE SERIES. The acclaimed comedy, directed by Drama Desk Award-winner Amy Wright, will play four additional performances at The Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) -- Tonight, 9/26 at 7pm; Sunday, 9/28 at 3pm; Sunday, 10/5 @ 3pm; and Sunday, 10/5 at 7pm.

New York's longest running and most horrifying haunted house, NIGHTMARE, will take on the legendary horror stories and urban legends of NYC's history in this 11th season edition - NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK. Producers Timothy Haskell (Creator of Nightmare) and Steve Kopelman, (producer of Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare') have announced. NIGHTMARE: NEW YORK will run today, September 26th through November 1st, 2014 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street between Rivington and Delancey on Manhattan's lower east side.

Actress/writer/comedian NANCY REDMAN joins forces with director AUSTIN PENDLETON for their third collaboration on the United Solo Theatre Festival: 'The Doctor Is Not In,' a sci-fi comedy exploring the hypocrisy of Hippocrates. Due to early ticket demand, Court Theatre and American Blues Theater announce an extension to the world premiere of American Blues Ensemble Member Nambi E. Kelley's new adaptation of Richard Wright's classic novel, Native Son, directed by Seret Scott. Native Son will now run September 11 - October 19, 2014 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue.

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the ninth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director of the Drama Desk and OBIE Award-winning Mint Theater, today announced that the Mint's latest production: The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly, would extend performances through October 26th to accommodate audience demand even before it opens. Jesse Marchese directs a cast that features Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack.
