Netflix has released the first trailer for Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods, starring Norm Lewis, Chadwick Boseman, Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters, and Isiah Whitlock, Jr.!

Giles Terera will lead the upcoming Sammy Davis, Jr. musical, titled Sammy!

The Winter Park Playhouse continues to delight audiences with its new 2020-21 Series of professional Mainstage musicals. The following are the show selections being produced by The Playhouse for the upcoming theatre season:  

Kurt Elling remains as much a luminary of the art form. Kurt feels as much a throwback as he does new age. Joined by some familiar faces, Elling gave the audience a bluesy tune to a'escape the dread of modern day living.'

Stand Up, the original song written by Joshuah Brian Campbell & Cynthia Erivo for Harriet, is now available with the full soundtrack releasing on November 1st. 

A workshop of Leslie Bricusse's musical SAMMY will be presented by Anthology Theatre Productions and Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment on Thursday 31 October to an invited audience of producers, theatre owners and investors. Olivier Award-winning actor, singer, writer, and director, Clarke Peters will direct recent Olivier Award-winner Giles Terera in the title role in this rousing musical written by Oscar and Grammy Award winning composer, lyricist and playwright Leslie Bricusse.

Andrew Scott, who is currently starring in Present Laughter on the West End, has joined the cast of His Dark Materials, a BBC and HBO co-production, according to Deadline.

Adapting Philip Pullman's award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, HIS DARK MATERIALS will debut this fall.  The series follows Lyra (Dafne Keen), a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world.  Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. 

Further performers have been revealed for Park Theatre's World Premiere murder mystery Whodunnit [Unrehearsed], as Adam Hills, Jason Manford, Neil Morrissey, Clarke Peters and Sandi Toksvig - with the voice of Miriam Margolyes - join the stellar list of participants. Every night, a different guest performer will step onstage to join the rehearsed ensemble of a scripted murder mystery play, having attended no rehearsals, read no script, nor received any direction. Armed only with a hidden earpiece to receive instructions, they will endeavour to solve the crime in real time.

Norm Lewis is among those recently announced to join the cast of Spike Lee's anticipated Netflix film Da 5 Bloods.

Visionary director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, Hadestown) presents Arthur Miller's ground-breaking play about hope, idealism and a nation's unwavering faith in capitalism, opening at The Old Vic on 13 February, with previews from 4 February.
