Special hours on Sunday, August 14 are from 10am to 2pm at the walkup counter in the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex. Phone agents will also take calls during this time.

One month after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the New-York Historical Society committed its resources to a new initiative called, History Responds, with exhibitions, public events and educational initiatives. Since then, the Society has presented 17 special exhibitions relating to the attacks, 20 public programs, five community meetings, numerous school and teacher programs and, when the Society's newly-renovated headquarters reopens on November 11, 2011, a permanent installation of photographs and other materials donated by survivors, witnesses, and rescuers.

This past Saturday, July 23, Randy Harrison (Queer as Folk) and the entire cast and crew of Broadway's Chicago attended SILENCE! The Musical, Off-Broadway's newest smash hit, at Theatre 80. The 10:30 PM performance was particularly electric as Charlotte d'Amboise and the other Chicago cast members broke out into cheers and applause every time SILENCE's leading lady (Jenn Harris) executed her Fosse moves, as devised by director/choreographer Christopher Gattelli. Harrison and the Chicago company happily posed for onstage photos afterwards with Brent Barrett, Jenn Harris and the entire SILENCE! cast.

They look a little like Blue Man Group, they sound a little like Toxic Audio and they talk a lot like Andy Kaufman and Carol Kane playing Latka and Simka on Taxi, but while Voca People might give the appearance of being a bit too tourist trappy for we jaded New York theatre types, it's the kind of family friendly, good clean fun that's legitimately clever, catchly and often downright adorable.
