The University Art Galleries (UAG) at UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts will mount a solo exhibition of paintings by Ed Moses, utilizing all three galleries and featuring works from the 1970s to the present. The exhibition entitled Ed Moses: Cross Section will open today, October 11 with a reception open to the public from 2:00pm - 5:00pm and will exhibit through Saturday, December 13, 2014.

The Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama presents Nickel Mines, an original work by Creator/Director/Choreographer and faculty member Andrew Palermo, as its final offering in a season which has focused on the theme of Justice/Exploration of Citizenship. A non-traditional musical combining spoken dialogue with interpretive movement and a powerful original score by composer Dan Dyer, Nickel Mines tells the story of a school shooting in the show's namesake Amish town, and investigates the ramifications of that event and the various responses it evoked.

San Diego REPertory Theatre (San Diego REP) presents 'Venus In Fur' by David Ives as the third installment of the company's 38th season. 'Venus In Fur' is a production The New York Times calls '90 minutes of good, kinky fun.' Directed by San Diego REP Co-Founder and Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse, previews for 'Venus In Fur' begin Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013. Opening night is Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 in the Lyceum Space.

Aaron Copland once characterized 'The Rite of Spring' as the foremost orchestral achievement of the 20th century, and The New York Times proclaimed the significance of the work to be 'to the 20th century as Beethoven's Ninth is to the 19th.' With the arrival of the centennial of Stravinsky's iconic masterwork, a reverberation of celebration can be heard around the symphonic world-and Pacific Symphony is no exception, offering a variety of activities throughout the rest of the 2012-13 season. In conceiving 'The Rite of Spring,' Stravinsky broke all the rules and defied convention, and it is very much in this spirit that the Symphony approaches its celebration.

With the arrival of the centennial of Stravinsky's iconic masterwork, a reverberation of celebration can be heard around the symphonic world and Pacific Symphony is no exception, offering a variety of activities that continue through June 8. In conceiving 'The Rite of Spring,' Stravinsky broke all the rules and defied convention, and it is very much in this spirit that the Symphony approaches its celebration-culminating with a party on the arts plaza, featuring the Symphony's second 'Inside and Out' Plazacast and Community Celebration-a free live simulcast of the concert projected onto the wall of Segerstrom Hall. Tuesday night a UC Irvine workshop reading of the controversial new musical in development, MANSON'S GIRLS stirred up some controversy, and ABC's nightly news reported on it. A result of an ongoing partnership between the Academy for New Musical Theatre (ANMT) and UC Irvine Drama that develops and workshops new musicals to preserve musical theatre as an artistic platform, MANSON'S GIRLS attempts to explore the pathology leading up to the Manson killings of 1969 and offer a cautionary tale for the audience.
