New York Theatre Ballet Presents REP At Florence Gould Hall

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet To Perform In Ballets By Magloire And Constantine Baecher

Miro Magloire's New Chamber Ballet will pay homage to Claude Debussy on this 100th anniversary of the great composer's death with a world premiere by resident choreographer Constantine Baecher, former member of the Royal Danish Ballet, along with Magloire's 'Two Friends,' both set to music by Debussy. Also on the program are recently premiered Magloire works to music by contemporary Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho, April 6 & 7 at 8 PM in City Center Studio 5.

Jonathan Kite to Lead Cast of THE NERD At George Street Playhouse

George Street Playhouse, located at 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, today announced Jonathan Kite (TV's 2 Broke Girls) will play the titular role in Larry Shue's The Nerd, on stage April 24 - May 20, 2018. Kevin Cahoon, who has appeared in many Broadway productions, including The Wedding Singer and The Lion King, will direct the popular comedy, which closes out GSP's mainstage season.

The Barrow Group's A WALK IN THE WOODS Begins Saturday, March 17

The Barrow Group Theatre Company (Seth Barrish and Lee Brock, Co-Artistic Directors; Robert Serrell, Executive Director), recipient of aDrama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award, concludes their 2017-2018 season with the New York revival of A Walk in the Woods, a play by Lee Blessing. Directed by Donna Jean (DJ) Fogel, the two-member cast features K. Lorrel Manning as John Honeyman, an American negotiator and Martin Van Treuren as Andrey Botvinnik, a career Russian diplomat.

HAMILTON Alum Solea Pfeiffer Will Make TV Debut on Tonight's SCANDAL

Recent Hamilton alum Solea Pfeiffer makes her Television debut this evening on ABC'S Scandal. She plays Meghan -- a pretty young woman, smart and savvy, charismatic, ambitious over-achiever. Perhaps not a far stretch for the University of Michigan alum who celebrated her 23rd birthday while touring as a lead with the most Tony-nominated musical of all time!

Tickets are $29 ($14 for students and seniors) and may be purchased at http://nytb.org/calendar-and-tickets/view/REP/ or by calling (212) 355-6160.   Diana Byer, Founder and Artistic Director of NYTB, is dedicating the evening to long-time friend and colleague, the late David Vaughan (1924-2017), a dance historian, critic, lecturer, and performer. She has titled the REP evening David's Favorites.  

Finalists Announced For The 2018 Lotte Lenya Competition

Kim H. Kowalke, President of the Kurt Weill Foundation, has announced the finalists for the 2018 annual Lotte Lenya Competition, its twentieth anniversary year. Fifteen performers from Canada, Germany, Israel, Italy, and the United States will compete for top prizes of $20,000, $15,000, and $10,000.

ABT Announces World Premiere Of New Dorrance Work

Tap dance choreographer Michelle Dorrance , in her first work for American Ballet Theatre , will create a piece d'occasion for the Company's Spring Gala performance on May 21 , 2018 at the Metropolitan Opera House . It was announced today by ABT Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie . The new Dorrance work is the first of a trio of works by the choreographer , co - commissioned with Vail Dance Festival , for which Dorrance is an artist - in - residence . The piece d'occasion will be followed up in July 2018 with the premiere of a new work for American Ballet Theatre's first appearance at the Vail Dance Festival .
