McCarthy, Harris, Dixon et al. Set For SWEENEY TODD At Barrington Stage 6/17-7/17

Celebrating Stephen Sondheim's 80th Birthday this year, Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Producing Director Richard M. Parison, Jr., presents the musical thriller, SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Directed by Julianne Boyd, with musical direction by Darren Cohen, Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece begins previews on June 17; opens June 23 at 7:00pm; and runs through July 17.

THE JESUS HICKEY Plays The Skylight Theatre, Opens 6/12

The Katselas Theatre Company continues its 2010 Season with the World Premiere of 'The Jesus Hickey,' a modern day fable about the seduction of celebrity. Written and directed by Luke Yankee, the production stars acclaimed film/television/stage actor Harry Hamlin. Producing is Gary Grossman.

GRASS WAS NEVER GREENER Premieres at Richmond Shepard Through May 30

World Premiere of The Grass Was Never Greener by Jim Blanchette runs May 20 through May 30th at the new Write Act Eastside in residence at The Richmond Shepard Theatre (formerly The Vineyard Theatre), located at 309 East 26th Street. Show time is 8 pm Thursday through Saturdays with a 3 pm matinee on Sundays. Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors, students, unions and groups. For reservations call 212-684-2690. GREEN GOLLY & HER GOLDEN FLUTE Offer Free Shows at Chelsea Market

The duo of Flute Sweet & Tickletoon (Barbara Siesel and Keith Torgan) will perform Green Golly & Her Golden Flute, for ages 4 - 10, on four Sundays in May: May 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the T Salon in Chelsea Market, 459 W. 15th St., NYC. Green Golly & Her Golden Flute introduces children to the magic of classical music via a humorous and lighthearted embellishment of the traditional tale of Rapunzel. These shows also celebrate the May 11 release of the newly remastered version of Flute Sweet & Tickletoon's Green Golly & Her Golden Flute CD.

A Noise Within (ANW) ends run of AWAKE AND SING!, an American classic by CLIFFORD ODETS, Sunday, May 23, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, March 13), directed by Andrew J. Traister. Featuring veteran actor Len Lesser (Jacob), who is well known to contemporary audiences at Seinfeld's 'Uncle Leo' and highly regarded ANW Resident Artists Deborah Strang (Bessie Berger) and Joel Swetow (Myron Berger), the play also features Alan Blumenfeld (Uncle Morty), Molly Leland (Hennie Berger), David Lengel (Sam Feinschreiber), Daniel Reichert (Moe Axelrod), Adam Silver (Ralph Berger) and Alan Waserman (Schlosser).

Bosco Awarded Purchase College Honorary Degree May 14

President Thomas J. Schwarz, will preside at the 38th Commencement ceremony at Purchase College State University of New York on Friday, May 14 at 1 PM on the West Lawn adjacent to The Performing Arts Center (735 Anderson Hill Road). Degrees will be awarded to approximately 1032 undergraduates and 55 graduate students.
