Academy Award® winner, Golden Globe Award® winner & BAFTA winner Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland, The Butler, Southpaw) will be joined by Tony Award® winner Frank Wood (Side Man, Angels In America, Clybourne Park) in the Broadway revival of Eugene O'Neill's HUGHIE, which will begin performances on Friday, February 5, 2016 and officially open on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Broadway's Booth Theatre(222 West 45 Street). Directed by Tony Award® winner and Olivier Award® winner Michael Grandage(Photograph 51, Red, Frost/Nixon), HUGHIE will play a strictly limited engagement. Tickets will officially go on sale beginning Sunday, November 15, 2015.

Producers Darren Bagert and Michael Grandage Company announced today that Academy Award® winner, Golden Globe Award® winner & BAFTA winner Forest Whitaker will be joined by Tony Award® winner Frank Wood (Side Man, Angels In America, Clybourne Park) in the Broadway revival of Eugene O'Neill's HUGHIE, which will begin performances on Friday, February 5, 2016 and officially open on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street). Anna Ziegler's new play Photograph 51 is one of this year's more anticipated theatrical events, in part due to its star-studded cast: Nicole Kidman and Stephen Campbell-Moore take the lead, under the wonderful direction of Michael Grandage. This production seems to be all I have come to expect from the Michael Grandage Company: it is brave, articulate and just plain interesting.

BroadwayWorld.com has learned that the Academy Award, Golden Globe & BAFTA winning actor Forest Whitaker will make his highly anticipated Broadway debut in HUGHIE, by four- time Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel Prize Laureate Eugene O'Neill. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner winner Michael Grandage, HUGHIE will play a strictly limited engagement in the spring of 2016 on Broadway at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.

Houston, August 17, 2015—Houston Grand Opera's (HGO) 2015–16 season showcases the vibrant and diverse artistic mix that marks HGO as a leading 21st-century American opera company: Wagner's Siegfried, the third installment of La Fura dels Baus's imaginative Ring cycle featuring a new generation of Wagnerians; the world premiere of Prince of Players by eminent American composer Carlisle Floyd, the Lynn Wyatt Great Artist for 2015–16; Dvoák's fairy tale rarity Rusalka; a holiday revival of family favorite The Little Prince from the award-winning composer Rachel Portman and librettist Nicholas Wright; a new production of The Marriage of Figaro; a new-to-Houston Eugene Onegin; a beloved core production, Tosca; and the Houston debut of Broadway sensation Rob Ashford's take on the classic musical Carousel. Through its community collaboration program HGOco, the company will present two additional world premieres: O Columbia, a chamber opera by composer Gregory Spears and librettist Royce Vavrek that examines the past, present, and future of the American spirit of exploration; and The Root of the Wind is Water, a chamber opera by composer David Hanlon and librettist Stephanie Fleischmann about the impact of hurricanes on the Texas Gulf coast.
