VIM VIGOR DANCE COMPANY presents the New York Premiere of FUTURE PERFECT at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue, NYC 10010 (25th Street between 3rd & Lexington Aves). Performances are just under an hour and run Thurs-Sat at 7:30pm from February 2-11, 2017.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2016-17 season with an exciting addition to the ORIGINKC NEW WORKS FESTIVAL in the spring of 2017. Playwright Christopher Chen breathes new life into the classic tragedy by William Shakespeare as commissioned by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Play On! program in which playwrights translate the bard into contemporary English. KC Rep and UMKC's department of theatre team up to support a developmental production of this new play.

Crowded Fire's Artistic Director Mina Morita unveiled the 2017 mainstage season lineup including two contemporary plays that continue to uphold the company's long tradition of producing boundary - pushing, thought-provoking theater. At a season-announcement party on Saturday, November 19th Morita addressed Crowded Fire donors, patrons, and artists saying "We are a divided country in the midst of a divisive time. It is more important now, more than ever to use our creative and critical thought to mine our cultural memory and to interrogate our existence. I am thrilled to present selections next season that do just that."

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is proud to present Politics in Play, a series of staged play readings tackling the nation's current state of affairs, as part of a new initiative to showcase diverse, political voices in the theater. Politics in Play will commence with After Orlando: an international theatre action, in response to the Pulse Nightclub shooting, on October 17, 2016; Mike Daisey's The Trump Card (Diana Wyenn, Director) on October 23, 2016; and Christopher Chen's Mutt: Let's All Talk About Race! (Rodney To, Director) on November 1, 2016.

Marin Theatre Company is proud to welcome Laura Brueckner as its new Literary Manager and Resident Dramaturg. She most recently served as the Editor for Theatre Bay Area and as a Resident Dramaturg for Crowded Fire Theatre Company. Ms. Brueckner's hiring not only enhances MTC's position as one of the leading incubators of new plays in the United States, but her long-time Bay Area residency will further strengthen MTC's collaborative efforts with local theatrical organizations and artists.
East West Players Receives $180,000 Grant to Advocate for Diversity in the American Theater

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, has received a $180,000 grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation's Fund for National Projects, which provides support to national performing arts organizations and projects to foster continued dynamism and vitality in the fields of contemporary dance, jazz, and theater. The grant is one of seven given to new projects in 2016 for a total of $1,052,006.
