According to Variety, actor John Cullum has signed on to reprise his role of 'the Interlocutor' in The Scottsboro Boys. The Kander and Ebb show is headed to Broadway this fall.

The cast of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, which ended its twice extended, sold-out run at Vineyard Theatre on Sunday, April 18, will record an Original Cast Album of the musical on Friday, April 23rd, it has been announced by Vineyard Theatre Artistic Director Douglas Aibel. The cast album of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS will be recorded and released by JAY Records. Release date TBA.

Along with contempt, familiarity is also pretty good at breeding hit Broadway musicals. Frank Baum's classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (which became an iconic American story once MGM got its hands on it), would probably leave audiences completely baffled as to what the devil was going on.
The Muny closes it's 2009 season with an exuberant and colorful staging of HAIRSPRAY, the musical based on film director John Waters' most mainstream feature.
