Today, Freeform announced the start of production on season two of the critically acclaimed comedy series “grown-ish.” From “black-ish” executive producer Kenya Barris, “grown-ish” is a contemporary take on the current issues facing both students and administrators in the world of higher education.
MTV today announced the Backstreet Boys, Bazzi and Bryce Vine, the newest artist to join The Sound Drop by PEPSI®, will perform live from the VMAs red carpet Pre-Show outside of Radio City Music Hall on Monday, August 20th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Actor and host Terrence J., together with radio and TV personality Nessa, will host alongside Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio and Vinny Guadagnino from “Jersey Shore Family Vacation.” Additionally, supermodel and activist, Winnie Harlow will serve as the red carpet fashion correspondent. To give fans an earlier start to the night, MTV will begin live streaming red carpet coverage at 7:30 p.m. on Twitter hosted by Justina Valentine from “Wild 'N Out” and Erik Zachary.
MTV today announced nominations across all gender neutral categories for the 2018 “VMAs.” The list includes dozens of artists whose reach and influence have elevated music's relevancy within the cultural conversation. Cardi B received nods in 10 categories, including “Video,” “Song” and “Artist of the Year,” and The Carters secured eight, including “Video of the Year,” “Best Collaboration” and “Best Hip Hop” for their recent hit single “APES**T.” Other top contenders include Childish Gambino, Drake and Bruno Mars. The “VMAs” will air live from Radio City Music Hall on Monday, August 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, and across MTV's global network of channels in more than 180 countries and territories, reaching more than half a billion households around the world.
In celebration of the 2018 BET Awards in Los Angeles, Domani Harris, was invited to perform on the BETX Coca-Cola stage on Saturday June 23rd. Domani, a rising rap star and son to hip hop legend T.I., performed alongside a live band new tracks off his recently released project AMYGDALA. Fans rushed to the stage in the Los Angeles Convention Center to enjoy the soulful rap experience that Domani provided. This was Domani's first major performance and proves he's got a bright music career ahead of him.
The 2018 BET Awards took place Sunday at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater, Kendrick Lamar taking home to most prizes, for best male hip hop artist and album of the year for “DAMN.” Beyonce was crowned the best female R&B/pop artist, and Cardi B won for best female hip hop artist. MTV, together with NAACP Youth & College Division and local youth organizations, will send 17 buses of young people from communities affected by gun violence to D.C. on Saturday for the March For Our Lives. The 17 buses represent the lives lost in the Parkland shooting and the more than 17 young lives lost* to gun violence every day. The buses will transport young people from Atlanta, GA; Baltimore and Bowie, MD; Chicago, IL; Greensboro, Laurinburg, Fayetteville, NC; New Jersey; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Providence, RI and Richmond, VA.

According to Billboard, sisters Chloe x Halle have announced their debut album, THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT. In a statement to Billboard, the R&B singers said: 'Our debut album means so much to us! Walt Disney Records is set to release the digital version of the original motion picture soundtrack to Disney's “A Wrinkle in Time,” from visionary director Ava DuVernay on March 9th as the film opens in theaters nationwide.
