Life is Beautiful, the successful lifestyle experience that celebrates music, food, art and learning, continues to support home-grown talent by inviting Vegas bands to participate in a special music showcase during Austin's SXSW. Open to the public, the showcase, hosted by Caesars Entertainment and curated by Life is Beautiful, will be at the Austin Ale House (301 W. 6th Street) on Thursday, March 13 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Each band participating in the event performed in the inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival in October of last year.

Just in case you aren't familiar with Béla Fleck, many opine he's the premiere banjo player in the world. Most experts claim he reinvented the image and sound of the banjo (with no apologies to Susanna). His remarkable performing and recording career has taken him all over the musical map on a range of solo projects and collaborations. His latest stop brings him to Canton to perform two concerts with the Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

Following his acclaimed New York Philharmonic debut on the ASIA / WINTER 2014 tour, jazz pianist Makoto Ozone will join Music Director Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic in a newly added concert Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. The all-American program will include Bernstein's Candide Overture; Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, featuring Mr. Ozone as soloist; Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story; and Gershwin's An American in Paris. The concert will mark Mr. Ozone's U.S. orchestral debut; his appearances with the Philharmonic on the ASIA / WINTER 2014 tour marked his first performances with an American orchestra.

Coming up tonight, February 28 at 9:00PM EST, PBS will present the national, TV broadcast premiere of Jazz and the Philharmonic, a co-production by the National YoungArts Foundation-a national organization that identifies and supports the next generation of artists-the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, and JAZZ ROOTS Producer Larry Rosen. Jazz and the Philharmonic was presented and filmed at the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center on January 11, 2013 and is a unique and wholly American concert experience which highlights two of the greatest musical art forms, classical and jazz. When the Stockton Symphony performs its Classics IV concert at 6:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, in Atherton Auditorium on the Delta College campus, members of the audience will have the fortunate opportunity to hear the distinguishing nuances of sound that emanate from the viola versus the violin.

Concert aficionados from around the country will want to mark their calendars for Music Mountain, America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival, when it kicks off its gala 85th Anniversary Season beginning Saturday, June 7th! To commemorate the milestone, Music Mountain will continue their season past Labor Day - making the 85th Anniversary Season the longest running season since the 1930s! The summer will include returning chamber ensembles, first time guests and the ever-popular Saturday Evening Twilight Series featuring Jazz, Country, and Folk Music. Concerts are scheduled through September 14.

The Virginia Arts Festival will explore worlds far and near, past and present, real and imagined in its spring 2014 season, with more than 50 performances by world?renowned artists, on stages throughout southeastern Virginia. Fans of music, dance and theater will travel from across the United States and around the world to see performances in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Williamsburg, Newport News, and James City County.

Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and President and CEO Deborah Borda today announced the 2014/15 season of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Last night, Feb. 8, singer David Pomeranz played the Slyvia & Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College in New York City. The New York Philharmonic, in collaboration with Juilliard, presents a farewell chamber music recital in honor of Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, longtime Juilliard faculty member who is retiring from Juilliard and the New York Philharmonic at the end of the current season. The concert on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. in Alice Tully Hall features Mr. Dicterow with his fellow New York Philharmonic musicians and guests, most of whom also have a strong Juilliard connection, and includes specially selected works by John Corigliano, Korngold, and Dvorak that reflect Mr. Dicterow's career in both New York and Los Angeles.
