COMEDIAN Robert Webb leads the cast of Jeeves And Wooster In Perfect Nonsense at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, next month.

Arizona Broadway Theatre (ABT) recently announced its Season 11 lineup to a packed house of invited donors and season subscribers. The eight full-scale productions will appear on the ABT Mainstage for the 2015-2016 season October 2015 through September 2016.

Arizona Theatre Company's 2015-16 season brings the return of master entertainer Hershey Felder, a mind-bending new comedy from the producer of HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher, the provocative 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway play, an August Wilson masterpiece, John Steinbeck's classic American tale Of Mice and Men and a new musical from Stephen Schwartz of Wicked and Godspell fame.

But don't let all those adorable moppets dancing around the stage and singing upbeat tunes fool you. Oliver! is not a light and fluffy happy musical, well, not solely anyway. It's also a dark and somber look at such serious issues as child abuse and neglect, the desperation of poverty, and violence. But fortunately, after all the death and darkness, the curtain call ends with a reprise of a happy number, so we can all leave the theater with that happy musical feeling. But perhaps we also leave with a deeper thought about the relevance and seriousness of what we just saw, wrapped up in a gorgeous musical theater package, to ponder further at a later date.

Dickens enjoyed a wider popularity and fame than had any previous author during his lifetime, and he remains popular, having been responsible for some of English literature's most iconic novels and characters. Many of his writings were originally published serially, in monthly instalments, a format of publication which Dickens himself helped popularise. Many of hisworks have been turned into Broadway shows, including: Oliver!, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, A Christmas Carol, a Tale of Two Cities, and more.
