Theatreworks to Present SOUL OF BROADWAY HOLIDAY

Listen to some of your favorite holiday and Christmas tunes in a soulful twist with The Soul of Broadway Holiday, December 9-11. From traditional gospel to Motown Christmas, a cast of seven will share some of the holiday's favorites. Led by Mitchell Vantrease and Chanel Bragg The Soul of Broadway Holiday features a number of actors and singers from around the Valley and marks the debut of the Christmas show to Theater Works.

Theater Works Offers Three Ways to Celebrate Holidays This December

Theater Works is offering three ways to enjoy the Holidays with three different shows throughout December kicking off Today, December 3, 2016.  A family musical with a story of giving, a soulful mix of Holiday music and a talent-filled cabaret come together for three weeks of holiday music. The Quiltmaker's Gift, Soul of Broadway Holiday and Santa's Helpers will be on stage in repertory through December 18. 2016 on the Gyder Stage at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. "We've got a lot of talent on this stage, and the holiday repertory shows are no exception," Artistic Director Chris Hamby says. "There is something for everyone at Theater Works."

BWW Review: A CHRISTMAS CAROL - Lights Up The Holiday

A CHRISTMAS CAROL by Charles Dickens, adapted and directed by Dave Steakley, currently playing at ZACH Theatre, has become an Austin tradition and is by far the best way to kick off the holiday season. Retooled to include new contemporary songs every year, the musical is performed by a Broadway caliber cast. The Dickens' classic has never been more entertaining, and with the addition of GREATER TUNA star Jaston Williams as Scrooge, this year is an extra special treat with a cherry on top.

The Met To Present Exhibit On Recently Collected Masterpieces, Today

The Costume Institute's Fall 2016 exhibition, Masterworks: Unpacking Fashion, on view in the Anna Wintour Costume Center from November 18, 2016, through February 5, 2017, will featuresignificant acquisitions of the past 10 years. The show, curated by Assistant Curator Jessica Regan with support from Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton, will explore how the department has honed its collecting strategy to amass masterworks of the highest aesthetic and technical quality, including iconic works by designers who have changed the course of fashion history and advanced fashion as an art form.
