Disney's Aladdin, the Tony Award-winning new musical comedy based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, is pleased to announce that original stars Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Tony Award nominee Jonathan Freeman (Jafar), Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (Genie) and Courtney Reed (Jasmine) have extended their contracts with the production through February 21, 2016. The four actors have led the 'sublime' (NY1) Aladdin company since its pilot production at Seattle's Fifth Avenue Theatre in the summer of 2011 and garnered critical acclaim when the Broadway production opened on March 20, 2014.

Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC) continues its 20th season of the New Play Sounding Series (NPSS) with a free reading of William Missouri Downs' newest play HOW TO STEAL A PICASSO on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Directed by Teresa Sanderson, the reading will feature local actors Daniel Beecher, Terence Goodman, Elise Groves, Jesse Peery, and Susan Dolan Stevens. According to an Equity casting notice, Tony winner Christopher Gattelli is set to helm an upcoming NYC developmental lab of Top Hat. This version of the show features the classic music and lyrics of Irving Berlin and a new book by Chad Beguelin. The lab is set to be held May 18 through June 19.
