VOTES to Offer Musical Theatre View of the Clintons at Castillo This Spring

VOTES by Jacqueline S. Salit and Fred Newman, composed by leading pop/country tunesmith Annie Roboff, is an 'outsider' musical with a canny view of the Clintons as a political couple. Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street, will present the work's world premiere April 1 to May 8, directed by Gabrielle L. Kurlander.

FLY, Inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen, Comes to New Victory Theater Tonight

From training to combat, experience the anguish, fears and triumphs of a brotherhood who fought for freedom abroad -- and at home. FLY, directed by Ricardo Khan, co-founder and former artistic director of Crossroads Theatre Company, and choreographed by Hope Clarke (A Free Man of Color; Jelly's Last Jam; Caroline, or Change) and Omar Edwards (Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk), tells the heroic tale of the Tuskegee Airmen through the eyes of four courageous young men.

Philadelphia Theatre Company Gets Steamy with SEX WITH STRANGERS This Spring

Philadelphia Theatre Company's next production promises to excite with SEX WITH STRANGERS by Laura Eason on April 8-May 8 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets).  Directed by David Saint, the production features Kyle Coffman as the young, brash writer Ethan Kane and JoAnna Rhinehart as novelist and teacher Olivia Lago.

The cast of The York Theatre Company Musicals in Mufti presentation of DON'T BOTHER ME, I CAN'T COPE welcomed the great Maurice Hines, as well as original Broadway company members Ben Harney, Maria Thomas and George Faison, to performances over the weekend. BAADAss Women Festival Kicks Off 3/11

?BAAD! - The Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance forges forward with the 16th annual BAAD!ASS WOMEN FESTIVAL, celebrating the empowerment of women through art, culture and performance.  The festival includes several evenings of dance, theatre, poetry, music and performance. The festival takes place at BAAD!, 2474 Westchester Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx. Ticket prices vary from free to $20.  Participants can take advantage of the Five for $5 special (you and four 'girlfriends' make a group of five and pay only $5 each with a prior reservation.)  BAAD! offers discounts to BAADGE cardholders, BCA cardholders and NALAC members, and free admission to residents of 10474 and 10461 zip codes. Ticket offers cannot be combined.

Pushcart Players to Present PETER AND THE WOLF

Pushcart Players, New Jersey's renowned touring theatre for young audiences presents "Peter and the Wolf" on Saturday, March 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Point Pleasant Borough Branch, Ocean County Library and on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:00 pm at Vineland Public Library. The performances are presented free to the public as part of the NJ Theatre Alliance's 19th Annual Stages Festival.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland to Present JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc. opens its spring season with the musical "James and the Giant Peach, Jr." Performances will be given on weekends March 5 through March 20 in the Lecture Hall of the Administration Building at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd.  The ensemble cast includes 25 student actors from Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Howard counties.  Tickets are $10 each with special group rates available. REELZ today announced the one hour original documentary special El Chapo & Sean Penn: Bungle in the Jungle will premiere Thursday, March 10 at 9pm ET/ 6pm PT. It's a story Hollywood drools over: a ruthless real-world villain seeks the help of an Oscar winning actor and a glamorous actress to immortalize him on the big screen. For actor Sean Penn, Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera, known as 'El Chapo' (the shorty), was to be his Treasure of the Sierra Madre. The most wanted, most dangerous and richest drug lord in the world agreed to meet Penn in the remote mountains of Sinaloa, Mexico to grant the first and only interview since he escaped from Mexico's top security prison.
