EVERY BRILLIANT THING Opens this September at The Armory

Local favorite Isaac Lamb will take the stage for Every Brilliant Thing, a play that tackles the impact of depression using a life-affirming list and a partly-improvised structure that engages audiences in a way never before seen at The Armory. Created by British playwright Duncan Macmillan with comedian Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing began as a short-play-turned-art-installation before becoming a full-length theater piece that was embraced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Off-Broadway, and adapted into an HBO movie. Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan will direct Every Brilliant Thing in the round in the Ellyn Bye Studio - the first studio show in Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 30th anniversary season. Every Brilliant Thing begins preview performances on September 23, opens on September 29 and runs through November 5.

Silas Weir Mitchell and Dana Green star in Constellations - playwright Nick Payne's exploration of love in the multiverse - opening at The Armory on May 19, with preview performances beginning May 13, and regular performances running through June 11. Portland Center Stage at The Armory's Artistic Director Chris Coleman will direct this multifaceted love story. Silas Weir Mitchell, who starred as the beloved Blutbad Monroe in NBC's six-season series Grimm, will play the beekeeper Roland. Dana Green, who was last seen at The Armory in Great Expectations and was also featured on Grimm as the Wesen Mabel Kurlon in season four, will play Roland's love interest, the physicist Marianne.

Lauren Weedman, who took the city by storm with The People's Republic of Portland, is back once again for the world premiere of her first music-based production, Lauren Weedman Doesn't Live Here Anymore. The Armory's Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan will direct the production. Tim Sonnefeld will provide music direction and join Weedman on stage to play guitar, along with Ji Tanzer on drums. The production will mark Weedman's debut on The Armory's U.S. Bank Main Stage. Lauren Weedman Doesn't Live Here Anymore begins preview performances on March 16; the opening night/press night is March 24; and regular performances run throughApril 30.

Portland-Based Rock Band Blitzen Trapper to Make Their Theatrical Debut with WILD AND RECKLESS at The Armory

Acclaimed Portland-based rock band Blitzen Trapper will make their foray into the world of theater with Wild and Reckless, a new concert event written and performed by the band that will have its world premiere at The Armory. The band has already recorded a limited-edition LP soundtrack for Wild and Reckless that will be available exclusively at performances. Entertainment Weekly premiered the song "Love Live On," which can be heard HERE. Co-directed by The Armory's Associate Artistic Director Rose Riordan and Production Manager Liam Kaas-Lentz, Wild and Reckless will run on the U.S. Bank Main Stage for 28 performances. Preview performances begin March 16; the opening night/press night is March 24; and regular performances run through April 30. The band will be joined on stage by New York-based actor Laura Carbonell (originally from Portland), making her debut at The Armory, and Portland-favorite Leif Norby.
