The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in a co-presentation with Pomegranate Arts, is thrilled to announce the special guest artists who will perform in Taylor Mac's ambitious, internationally acclaimed work A 24-Decade History of Popular Music. Local Philadelphia performance artists and musicians will join Mac in these final U.S. performances of the full, 24-hour-long pop odyssey, June 2 & 9 at the Kimmel Center's Merriam Theater, as part of the 2018 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). Mac will perform A 24-Decade History of Popular Music as two distinct 12-hour concerts, Saturday, June 2 (1776-1896) and Saturday, June 9 (1896-present day) - Mac's longest continuous performances since the work premiered at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn in 2016.

Today, Carole Shorenstein Hays announced that single tickets are now available for SOFT POWER, the play featuring a musical by David Henry Hwang (play and lyrics) and Jeanine Tesori (music and additional lyrics). SOFT POWER will make its Bay Area premiere at San Francisco's Curran (445 Geary Street) June 20 - July 8, 2018. SOFT POWER is a Center Theatre Group co-commission with The Public Theater and will perform at the Curran following its world premiere at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles

Carole Shorenstein Hays announced that San Francisco's Curran theater will welcome Former FBI Director James Comey (Monday, April 23) and former White House photographer Pete Souza (Thursday, May 10) as part of Curran's popular SHOW & TELL series, featuring provocative, topical and entertaining one-night-only events. From the White House to the Great White Way, SHOW & TELL's all-star lineup also features some of the theater's most celebrated artists, including the writers and creative minds behind Soft Power, David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori (Thursday, May 17) and Broadway legend Patti LuPone (Friday, June 1). Tonight, live from the stage of the Bowery Ballroom, it was announced that Head Over Heels, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic songs ofThe Go-Go's - the most successful female rock band of all time - will officially open on Broadway at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street) on Thursday, July 26, 2018 (performances begin Saturday, June 23). The announcement was delivered by The Go-Go's alongside the musical's director Michael Mayer. At a live event on stage at the Curran this evening, Carole Shorenstein Hays announced the entire inaugural season of her newly reopened and reconceived Curran Theater. #Curran2018, as the season is dubbed, will include the Tony Award-winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen, as well as three bold new works: Soft Power, Taylor Mac's Holiday Sauce, and the pre-Broadway engagement of Head Over Heels. Crocetto, who recently opened the SFO's 2015 season with her electrifying performance in the title role of Luisa Miller and made her Metropolitan Opera debut as Liù in Turandot, will perform three numbers throughout the evening.
