Scenic Designer Derek McLane Will Receive Hasty Pudding's Order of the Golden Sphinx Award

The Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770 has just announced that Tony and two-time Emmy award winner, DEREK McLANE, will be the 2018 recipient of the Order of the Golden Sphinx award. Mr. McLane will be honored and presented with the prestigious award at the annual Order of the Golden Sphinx Gala to be held at The Pierre in New York City on April 16th, 2018.

In January 2018, Broadway Across Canada announced the three musical productions coming to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre as part of the company's 2018-2019 season. "We wanted to pull out all the stops for our 20th anniversary season," says Broadway Across Canada's vice-president, Shana Levin. "The shows we're bringing include powerful true stories about community, empowerment, and the power of the human spirit," she says. "They're stories we could all learn from right now."

Broadway In Boston, Boston's mainstage for Broadway, has unveiled the upcoming 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway Season during its annual spring announcement event at the Boston Opera House.  Eleven theatrical productions will take center stage at the Boston Opera House and the Emerson Colonial Theatre.  Over 1500 people from around the city gathered for the annual celebration including Broadway In Boston's Season ticket holders, group leaders, arts and business leaders, city officials, partners from around the city, sponsors and the Boston media.  Highlights from the day included live performances from cast members of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, ROALD DAHL'S CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, SCHOOL OF ROCK and A BRONX TALE.

Mercury Theatre Colchester and TBO Productions today announce full casting for the world premiere of their brand-new musical - Pieces of String, with book, music and lyrics by Gus Gowland. Ryan McBryde directs Carol Starks (Jane), Andy Coxon (Ed), Marilyn Cutts (Rose), Ella Dunlop (Gemma), Lauren Hall (Anna), Joel Harper-Jackson (Tom), Craig Mather (Edward) and Gary Wood (Harry). Open auditions were held in Colchester to cast Young Rose, and the part will be alternated by three young people local to the theatre. Pieces of String, designed by 2017 Linbury Prize Finalist Fin Redshaw, opens on 27 April at the Mercury, with previews from 20 April and runs until 5 May.
