The stage will be set at Detroit?s historic Masonic Temple Theatre for two days of total soap star immersion when 14 of daytime television?s top actors from ABC?s All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital, CBS?s The Young & the Restless and NBC?s Days of Our Lives come to town, along with special guest star, Michigan?s own Matt Giraud from American Idol, to entertain and get up close and personal with their fans.

On Monday, March 9th, 2009 stars from ABC?s ?All My Children,? ?One Life to Live,? and ?General Hospital? performed at the 5th Annual ABC Daytime and SOAPnet Salutes Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS benefit at Town Hall in New York City. The annual event raised an all time record of $330,000 bringing the cumulative total to nearly $1.5 million dollars since the shows inception in 2005. This announcement was made today by Brian Frons, president, Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group and Tom Viola, executive director, Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS.

The special star-studded evening will feature performers from stage & screen - from Saturday Night Live to Spring Awakening - all to benefit Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force. 100% of the profits from this spectacular event will be donated directly to Family Equality Council, Empire State Pride Agenda, Equality California, Garden State Equality, and The Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force, five charitable organizations working to promote equality and protect civil rights for the gay and lesbian community.
