The Country Music Association, which recently announced its new international artist-focused touring series, Introducing Nashville, has added back-to-back performances at Blue Note Tokyo in Japan on Saturday, March 30 featuring Brandy Clark, Devin Dawson and Lindsay Ell. Prior to Japan, Introducing Nashville will visit multiple cities in Australia and New Zealand with Clark, Dawson, Ell and Tenille Townes (Australia only). The Legendary Soul Man Sam Moore was announced as a guest collaborator on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, and world-renowned Nashville-based keyboardist, Reese Wynans first-ever solo album, Sweet Release. Moore makes his guest appearance on the album's first single, 'Crossfire,' providing his signature vocals on the classic song, once sung by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Grammy nominee Mark Hummel returns, kicking off the new year with the latest iteration of his all-star blues revue, the 2019 Southern Blues Harp Blowout. As always, his guests are stellar: Grammy Award-winner Bobby Rush is a ten-time Blues Music Award winner, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year, and Rolling Stone "King of the Chitlin' Circuit" winner. Alabama harpman James Harman- one of the great performers, writers and unique characters in the blues today - has employed some of the all-time great blues musicians in his bands. Kenny Neal is a second-generation southern Louisiana bluesman, 2017 Grammy nominee and winner of two Blues Music Awards for his Bloodline recording. And Jumpin' Johnny Sansone studied harmonica with Junior Wells and James Cotton; his former band Jumpin Johnny's Blues Party was the foundation of the New Orleans-based The Iguanas. Rounding out the good times is blues supergroup Golden State/Lone Star Blues Revue.
A musical celebration of how Native American musicians transformed blues, jazz and rock, RUMBLE: The Indians Who Rocked the World, will premiere on Independent Lens Monday, January 21, 2019, 10:00-11:30 PM ET (check local listings) on PBS, and will also be available simultaneously for online streaming at pbs.org. As the film reveals, early pioneers of the blues such as Charley Patton had Native as well as African American roots, and one of the first and most influential jazz singers, Mildred Bailey, had a voice trained on Native American songs. As the folk rock era took hold in the '60s and '70s, Native Americans such as Robbie Robertson and Buffy Sainte-Marie helped to define its evolution, and Native guitarists and drummers like Link Wray, Jimi Hendrix, Jesse Ed Davis and Randy Castillo forever changed the trajectory of rock and roll. The film is directed by Catherine Bainbridge (Reel Injun), co-directed by Alfonso Maiorana, executive produced by legendary rock guitarist Stevie Salas (Apache) and Tim Johnson (Mohawk), and produced by Christina Fon, VP and Executive Producer of Rezolution Pictures.
