Jefferson Performing Arts Society, a 37 year-old organization, is preparing for its 19th Annual Pasta & Puccini fundraising Gala.

Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, the 2013 Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of South Pacific and The Sound of Music, will play at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County's Ziff Ballet Opera House for a limited engagement starting October 28 through November 2, 2014. The York Theatre Company will present a staged reading of Benjamin Button, a new musical with music by Natalie Tenenbaum and book and lyrics by Brett Boles. Stephen Nachamie will direct. The musical is based on the short story authored by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

North Carolina Theatre is taking on an iconic work of musical theater with their current staging of LES MISERABLES. Such a piece is quite a feat to put on, and to do it well is a great undertaking, but NC Theatre manages to accomplish something spectacular by combining the best talent of the Triangle with amazing New York actors. The result is a production which does justice to the cultural monolith which is Les Mis. It's a perfect production for die-hard fans and first-timers alike.

North Carolina Theatre (NCT) and Broadway Series South welcomed their blend of Broadway veterans, NYC actors and local talent for LES MISERABLES, opening tonight, February 11, and continuing through February 23. The show will star Raleigh's own Lauren Kennedy, reprising the role of 'Fantine' she played on Broadway, alongside her real-life daughter Riley Campbell as 'Young Cosette'. Broadway veterans Craig Schulman as 'Jean Valjean' and Chuck Wagner as 'Javert' round out this star-studded cast. Check out a first look below!

The 2013 NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition returns for its eighth year, continuing at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street) through October 11. NYMF held open auditions for Season 8 of the annual talent contest. Nearly 200 hopefuls turned out to compete for the title of NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation, and the field was narrowed down to 20 semifinalists, who competed in two heats at New World Stages.
