Chaos arises when letters begin to fall from a town monument and government officials ban them one by one. The community depends on the strength of a determined teenage girl to fight for their freedom of speech. This unique musical is part romance, part clever word game and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe. Girls Night: The Musical by Louise Roche will run tonight, February 11 - March 22, 2015, playing Wednesdays & Thursdays 7:30p, Fridays & Saturdays 8:00p and Sundays 3:00p at Stages Repertory Theatre, 3201 Allen Parkway. Mitchell Greco (Xanadu, Life Could Be a Dream) directs.

Girls Night: The Musical by Louise Roche will run February 11 - March 22, 2015 at Stages Repertory Theatre.

This world premiere, one-woman musical follows the zany adventures of struggling New York actress Rita Donatella in her desperate attempts to land the role of a lifetime - to star in a film with Johnny Depp! You'll laugh and cry with Rita on her heartfelt and spirited journey through the highs and lows of wishing to be famous, and realizing that sometimes we let our goals get in the way of the important things in life. The musical runs January 22-31 in Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The story focuses on two All-American and clean cut high school sweethearts Jimmy (Sean McGee) and Mary Lane (Taylor Beyer). They want to grow up together, have babies, lots of friends and end up happily ever after like their favorite couple “Romeo and Juliet” (a story in which they don't know the horrible ending). Well much like their favorite couple, they are pulled apart and struggle against the odds of being together. Jimmy, under the pretense that he's getting some jazz dance lessons, gets sucked into the lair of a reefer den and after one puff of what they have to offer; he becomes hooked and quickly abandons everything he knows. His fall from grace into a world of debauchery and sexual promiscuity brings on the mayhem as he struggles to choose between the hypnotizing Mary Jane, and his sweetheart Mary Lane.

Last season, TUTS Underground fulfilled their promise of bringing an edgier brand of theatre to Houston audiences. Now entering their sophomore season, they are continuing to push the envelope with the darkly satirical and laugh-out-loud musical, REEFER MADNESS. Playing the role of Sally, Brooke Wilson took some time out of her busy schedule to let Houston audiences know why they don't want to miss this production of REEFER MADNESS.

An often over-looked subject in the musical genre is the hardworking, semi-rural blue-collar working class American, but that is exactly the focus of HANDS ON A HARDBODY. The Texas-centric musical, based on the 1997 documentary of the same title, is enjoying a phenomenal Texas Premiere.
