As a founding member of the New York Dolls and in a prolific solo career, David Johansen has been a seminal force in rock and roll, influencing countless singers and bands to this day. Buster Poindexter, Johansen's celebrated alter ego showcases his elegant crooning through R&B ballads. As Poindexter, his previous engagements at the Cafe have been sellouts and he's become one of the most revered artists to grace the Cafe, with TheaterMania calling his Cafe show 'one of the most satisfying musical acts you're likely to encounter in New York,' adding 'this show is hot.' In what continues to become a Cafe tradition, the audience favorite returns to Cafe Carlyle for a two-week residency, today, February 10-21, including a special Valentine's Day performance on February 14.

NiCori Studios and Productions and Irvington Town Hall Theater announce the third performance in the Cabaret on the Hudson series. The performance will be held on Monday, February 16 at 8pm. Cabaret on the Hudson is a series that features three outstanding cabaret performers or small groups, each bringing a 25 minute sampling of their New York City cabaret shows to Westchester, NY. Many of the performers are Broadway veterans and have performed in New York City venues such as 54 BELOW, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, Birdland, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Iridium, the Metropolitan Room and Jazz at Lincoln Center to name a few. Cabaret on the Hudson will be hosted by multi-nominated Cabaret singer and host of the 'Music at the Mansion' series, Corinna Sowers Adler and will feature Benet Braun on piano.

The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, is pleased to welcome Tony DeSare, originator of the Sunday Night Bemelmans series, back to Bemelmans Bar for an extended Sunday night residency. Named a 'Rising Star' male vocalist in Downtown magazine's recent Critics' Poll, DeSare has lived up to the distinction by winning critical and popular acclaim for his performances throughout the US and across the globe. DeSare has three top ten Billboard Jazz albums under his belt and has been featured on the CBS Early Show, NPR and the Today Show. His music was recently posted by social media celebrity juggernaut, George Takei. Tony DeSare (piano/vocals) will be accompanied by Ed Decker (guitar) and Steve Doyle (bass) as a trio throughout the residency. They'll bring their fresh take on old school classics to Bemelmans Sunday nights, January 4-25; February 8 and 15; March 1 and 8.

Lots of times there are signature sounds. A voice seems like it was always meant to be heard in a certain venue. It's a perfect fit. At Yankee Stadium it was announcer Bob Sheppard, For CBS News it was Walter Cronkite and for the Carlyle it was Bobby Short. It will always be Steve Tyrell for this Father of The Brides.
