Building upon the artistic acclaim of the of 2016-17 Season and reaffirming the commitment to bring "more theatre to more people", Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced today a dynamic 2017-18 Season; celebrating the prismatic and perennial impact of musical theatre.

The Kitchen presents METROPOLIS VIDEO: Rock from CBGB, 10/3

The Kitchen is pleased to welcome back Metropolis Video for a 40th anniversary screening that includes the world premiere of several songs from a recently discovered and digitally restored fall 1975 performance by Talking Heads at CBGB, as well as performances by Blondie, The Heartbreakers (with Richard Hell and Johnny Thunders), Tuff Darts (with Robert Gordon), and Orchestra Luna.

Edgar Oliver's New York Trilogy to Return to Axis Theatre This Fall

Axis Theatre served as the incubator and theatrical home for East 10th Street: Self Portrait with Empty House (2009), In the Park (2014), and Attorney Street (2016), the three poignantly peculiar solo plays that make up New York's monologizing cult sensation Edgar Oliver's New York Trilogy.

Grey Gersten Releases Video For 'The Planet Is Doomed' Created by Kyp Malone

Garbage Shares Music Video for New Single 'No Horses,' Not Touring the U.S. with Blondie

Garbage today shared a music video for their new single “No Horses”. Directed by Pancake Mountain creator Scott Stuckey, the politically charged clip can be seen HERE (TK). “No Horses” was released last month and is available now HERE. All of the band's profits from sales and streaming of the single will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross through the end of 2018.

HOW TO BE A ROCK CRITIC Extends at Steppenwolf

By popular demand Steppenwolf's LookOut Series extends its rock 'n' roll production of the solo play, How To Be A Rock Critic (Based on the Writings of Lester Bangs) by award-winning theatre artists Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen, starring Erik Jensen (The Walking Dead, Mr. Robot) as Lester Bangs and directed by Jessica Blank (Made in Jersey, The Namesake). Described as "a fascinating window into one of the last century's most compelling and fearless critics," (Chicago Tribune), the 80-minute production continues for three additional performances through July 29, 2017 in the 1700 Theatre, situated behind Front Bar: Coffee & Drinks (drinks permitted in the theater).

Paul Alexander's TRINKETS Comes to 21 Bond Arts Center

Playwright Paul Alexander is a 'NY nightlife legend' most notably known for the 1990's performance art-dance party Jackie 60 where he honed his vocal emcee and performance skills. Following many solo underground dance singles he gained international success with the dance pop trio The Ones, known for their #1 Dance/#7 Pop hit Flawless. Trinkets, is an original musical play set in NYC during the 1990's. It tells a story of a group of drag and transsexual prostitutes, who work the streets of the meatpacking district. This fantastical story taken from reality shows a moment in the growth of the LGBT community, which is often overlooked.
