A Spanish BEAUTY AND THE BEAST fan site -- La Bella y la Bestia de Disney -- has revealed a couple of amazing behind-the-scenes stills from Disney's upcoming live-action remake of the classic animated film.

For the first time in its history, EVITA, this revolutionary Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical is being produced by Cabrillo Music Theatre. 

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present multi-Grammy and Tony Award-nominated composer/producer Frank Wildhorn and Tony Award-nominated singer/actress Keala Settle (currently starring in Waitress) in 'Keala Settle & Frank Wildhorn: For The First Time LIVE' on Monday night.

The Daily Mail has reported that actress Lily Frazer will be joining the cast of Casey Nicholaw's upcoming premiere UK production of Harry Krieger and Tom Eyen's, Dreamgirls.

Prior to my attendance at Dallas Theater Center's DREAMGIRLS this weekend, my familiarity with the show was based on the 2006 motion picture and the 2001 Actors Fund concert recording (not to mention the Tony Awards clip featuring Jennifer Holliday). Basically knowing only the film, I had often considered how smoothly the stage show could handle the onstage to backstage transitions, given the fast-paced musical score it followed. And, although the DTC production offers a slick, seamless interpretation of the piece, I'm afraid I left the theatre with the impression that the (gasp) movie adaptation was superior to the stage version. That being said, there are still many reasons to head to the Wyly to see this production.

First casting is announced today for Broadway musical Side Show, which receives its UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse. At yesterday's CinemaCon in Las Vegas, 20th Century FOX announced that the highly anticipated musical movie GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH, starring Hugh Jackman is a 'go' for 2017.

Bay Street Theater will welcome THE ABSOLUTE BRIGHTNESS OF LEONARD PELKEY as a Special Mainstage Bonus Production this summer. The one-man play will run one week only from July 18 through July 24.

Hugh Jackman and Luke Evans visited the Jonathan Ross Show this week. While they were there, they had a sing-off to determine which of the two is the best Gaston, given that Gaston was one of Jackman's first stage roles and that Evans is set to play Gaston in the upcoming live action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Check out the video here!
