Casting has been announced for the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. This lavish new production premieres in St. Louis at the Fabulous Fox Theatre April 26 - May 8.

The brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, premieres at Atlanta's Fox Theatre this week, March 1-6, 2016, as part of the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2015/2016 season. 

Award-winning playwright Bathsheba Doran's heartfelt new work, THE MYSTERY OF LOVE & SEX, opened last night, February 21, 2016, at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum and continues through March 20. BroadwayWorld has photos from the starry festivities below!

Tickets go on sale for the brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien on Sunday, February 28. This lavish new production will make its Detroit premiere May 10-22 at The Fisher Theatre as part of a North American tour. 

There are a few places in downtown Denver where you can learn to murder someone, probably. I'd recommend you go with the one where there's singing and dancing. A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder is playing at the Buell Theatre through the end of February. The other options probably aren't quite as pleasant. (Not to be confused with Murder for Two, playing just across the way in the Garner Galleria.)

The wildly popular musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will be at The Memphis Orpheum February 9 - 14th. This daring, dark comedy hails from Roy Horniman's 1907 novel, Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal, told through the eyes of a man who bumps off the aristocrats standing in the way of his title. In 1949, the book was loosely adapted into the movie, 'Kind Hearts and Coronets' which starred Dennis Price, Joan Greenwood, Valerie Hobson, and Alec Guinness. In 2014, Robert Freedman and Steven Lutvak set the story to music. It has been nabbing awards and slaying audiences ever since.

Hartford Stage presents William Shakespeare's most popular play, ROMEO & JULIET, directed by Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak, who previously helmed the critically acclaimed productions of HAMLET, MACBETH, TWELFTH NIGHT and THE TEMPEST. The tragic romance will play from tonight, February 11, through March 20 only.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER must have been a 'labor of love' for Robert L. Freedman, who wrote the book: After all, it is derived from the brilliant 1949 British comedy classic KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS, which benefited immeasurably by performances by Dennis Price, Joan Greenwood, and -- most especially -- the brilliant Alec Guinness, whose impersonation of all the victims was a tour de force. Yet, A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE, with wickedly droll music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak, is a deliciously poisonous bon bon all its own. It's as if Joseph Kesselring's ARSENIC AND OLD LACE had somehow melded with Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, and somewhere 'up there' (or 'down there,' whatever the case may be) writers like Roald Dahl and directors like Alfred Hitchcock must be smiling at the production currently delighting audiences at the Orpheum.

Producers Frank Marshall, Mindy Rich, Anita Waxman, and Beth Williams announced today that the new musical featuring the songs of legendary singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, with an original story by co-book writers Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley, will have its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California. Directed by Tony Award® nominee and Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, the strictly limited engagement will kick off the Playhouse's 2017/2018 season, with performances beginning on May 16, 2017, an official opening night of May 28, and will play through June 25, 2017. Tony Award nominee Christopher Ashley will direct the production, which will open on May 16, 2017.

Just in, multiple-time Tony and Drama Desk nominees Kate Baldwin, John Cariani, Marc Kudisch, Julia Murney, Mary Testa, Max von Essen, will be some of the performers at Transport Group's annual gala, 'Gimme a Break!' on March 7, 2016.

The Kennedy Center and the company of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder today announced that tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at 3 p.m. for the newly added performance on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 12 p.m.

The Tony Award winner for Best Musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, will play The Orpheum Theatre in Memphis February 9th through 14th in its First National Tour, which launched in September 2015.

There are few musicals I can say I enjoyed more on tour then when I saw the original cast on Broadway, but A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is an exception. Clever, ingeniously witty and hysterical, it's the perfect show to beat the winter doldrums and you don't have to be a gentleman to enjoy it!
