Joey Calveri, Jenn Collela and More Set for WAT Project's Staged Reading of 1959 PINK THUNDERBIRD, 5/19

Working Artists Theatre Project, in collaboration with the David Lynch Foundation, presents a staged play reading benefit of James McLure's companion comedies Lone Star and Laundry and Bourbon under the title 1959 Pink Thunderbird, featuring a cast of Broadway talent. All proceeds will benefit the Operation Warrior Wellness Project in teaching War Veterans with PTSD Transcendental Meditation.

Public Studio's THE URBAN RETREAT & MANAHATTA Begin Performances on 5/15

The Public Theater will begin performances for Public Studio's two inaugural plays, THE URBAN RETREAT by A. Zell Williams, and MANAHATTA, by Mary Kathryn Nagle, on Thursday, May 15. The two plays will be presented as pared-down productions and run in repertory through Sunday, May 25 in The Public's Shiva Theater.

Three Cat Productions presents the world premiere production of the musical revue Hang Your Hat at Mister Kelly's at the Chicago Park District's Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan Road (Edgewater by Granville el stop on Red Line). Hang Your Hat at Mister Kelly's explores the famed Chicago Rush Street supper club through the eyes of Winston a former Mister Kelly's employee. Transporting back to the 1950s, 60s and 70s, Winston recalls the legendary performers of Barbra, Ella, Jackie, Barry and many more.

The Theatre Program at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) takes audiences back to the turbulent, free-wheeling 1960s for the groundbreaking, exhilarating and heartbreaking musical "Hair." A product of the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of that remarkable decade, "Hair" will be performed at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Fridays, today, April 25 and May 2 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, April 26 and May 3 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, April 27 and May 4 at 2 p.m.
