The Public Theatre to Present MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS, 5/2-11

Spring is finally here and it's time for Moonlight and Magnolias, the fun, farcical, and somewhat true behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the screenplay for Gone With the Wind, now playing at The Public Theatre, May 2 - 11.

Footlight Players to Present TWENTIETH CENTURY, 5/2-18

The Footlight Players, South Carolina's longest-producing theatre company, is thrilled to present Twentieth Century, the story of a Broadway director and his quest to woo his former lover and star back to the Broadway Stage. Twentieth Century, by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur, is newly adapted by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor). Michael Locklair directs this madcap farce about egomaniacal Broadway director, Oscar Jaffe, who has a twenty hour train ride from Chicago to New York to convince, now Hollywood star, Lily Garland to return to Broadway in his upcoming show. Twentieth Century arrives on stage May 2 at 8:00 pm and May 3, 8, 9,10,15, 16 and 17 at 8:00 pm with matinees on May 11 & 18 at 3:00 pm.

Barter Theatre's DON'T CRY FOR ME, MARGARET MITCHELL to Open 1/31

Barter Theatre opens its 2014 Season next week with a comedy that goes behind the scenes of one of the greatest movies of all time. 'Don't Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell' is the true story of how three sleep-deprived men (and one very overworked secretary) had just seven days to save the movie "Gone With the Wind." Can they rewrite an entire movie script in one week - before they all go bananas?

The Nora Theatre Company will present Terry Johnson's Insignificance from today, January 9 - February 9, 2014. Insignificance is directed by Daniel Gidron. The press performance for Insignificance is Monday, January 13 at 7:30PM.

Moises Kaufman Directs Daniel Beaty's THE TALLEST TREE Premiere at La Jolla Playhouse, Now thru 11/3

La Jolla Playhouse announces a fifth production for its 2013/14 season: the world premiere of The Tallest Tree, a new play with music written and performed by Daniel Beaty (Emergency, Through the Night), directed by Moises Kaufman (I Am My Own Wife, The Laramie Project). A co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre, The Tallest Tree will run in The Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre tonight, October 9 - November 3, 2013. The piece is produced in association with Tectonic Theater Project.

A VISIT FROM SCARFACE to Open 10/8 at Barter Stage II

Beginning October 8, get ready to witness the hilarious and almost true story about the writer of the movie "Scarface'! From the mother/son writing duo, V. Cate and Duke Ernsberger, comes "A Visit from Scarface," playing at Barter Stage II.

Prince George's Little Theatre to Present TWENTIETH CENTURY, Begin. 8/30

Prince George's Little Theatre will lead off its 54th season with the madcap comedy "Twentieth Century" at the Bowie Playhouse at White Marsh Park August 30 through September 15. The six Friday and Saturday evening performances are August 30 and 31, and September 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 8 p.m. The three matinee performances are Sundays September 1, 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20, with discount tickets available at $15 for seniors and those 18 and under. La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for His Girl Friday, adapted by John Guare (Six Degrees of Separation, House of Blue Leaves) from the Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur play The Front Page and the Columbia Pictures film His Girl Friday. Directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley (Glengarry Glen Ross, Memphis), the production will kick off the 2013/2014 season, running May 28 - June 30 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Artistic Director Jeffrey Cass and Executive Director Julie Ann Kornak have announced BrightSide Theatre's 3rdSeason - 2013-2014 - 'Life, Love & Laughter' ' Moonlight and Magnolias, Bleacher Bums, and Cabaret. 'These three pieces of theatre entertain the audience as we look at life through the lens of love and laughter,' explains Executive Director Julie Ann Kornak. 'From the love of the movies, to the love of the game, to those who love inside the cabaret, we hope you will join us for our 3rd season and share in the love and laughter that surround these characters' lives.'
