Target Margin Theater to Stage DRUNKEN WITH WHAT; Previews Begin in February

Kicking off the 2016 spring season, Target Margin Theater presents a special treatment of Eugene O'Neill's epicMourning Becomes Electra. Drunken With What, presented at the Abrons Arts Center's historic Playhouse in February 2016, is the first in a series of studies of key scenes in the Mourning Becomes Electra trilogy and will offer audiences a deep reflection on the seminal work. Previews will begin on February 11th, 2016 with an opening night set for February 15th, 2016. Tickets will be $30.

Cast Set for Young Jean Lee's STRAIGHT WHITE MEN at Kirk Douglas Theatre This Winter

Young Jean Lee's STRAIGHT WHITE MEN will have its West Coast premiere November 20 - December 20, 2015, at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre, directed by Lee and presented in collaboration with the Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA. The first U.S. performances of the play since The Public Theater presented its New York premiere last fall will feature a cast of Frank Boyd, Richard Riehle, Brian Slaten and Gary Wilmes.

Amas Musical Theatre to Host Staged Readings of TEN MINUTE HAMLET, 12/14-15

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present staged readings of The Ten Minute Hamlet, a contemporary comedy by Sharon Talbott. Directed by Christopher Scott, the readings will be held on Monday, December 14th at 6pm and Tuesday, December 15th at 3pm & 7pm at Ripley Greer Studios (989 Eighth Avenue - between 55th & 56th Streets).

Crowded Fire Theater (CFT) Crowded Fire's newly appointed Artistic Director Mina Morita unveiled the 2016 mainstage season lineup of three contemporary plays that continue to uphold the company's long tradition of producing boundary - pushing, thought-provoking theater. At a season-announcement party on Saturday, November 14th Morita addressed Crowded Fire donors, patrons, and artists saying "At Crowded Fire, we are unafraid of tackling big issues. We commit ourselves to true experimentation of form and content to question, disrupt, or complicate comfortable notions of cultural hierarchy."

Amas Musical Theatre to Offer Additional Staged Readings of GOTTA GETTA GIRL and A TASTE OF CHOCOLATE

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present additional staged readings next month of two musicals in development for upcoming full productions. First up will be Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell, directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell. The readings will be held on Monday, November 2 @ 6pm and Tuesday November 3 @ 3pm & 7pm, at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46thStreet, 8th Floor - between Broadway & 6th Avenue).

Target Margin Theater, who last year dedicated their season to the exploration of works created by the great American novelist, poet and playwright Gertrude Stein, will launch their 2015-2016 Season with an encore presentation of Reread Another based on Gertrude Stein's 'Reread Another A Play To Be Played Indoors or Out I Wish to Be a School.'  Directed by David Herskovits, the three member cast will feature Clare Barron, Purva Bedi, and Ugo Chukwu.  Performances begin tonight, September 24, 2015 for a limited engagement through Saturday, October 17, 2015 at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn).   Opening night is set for Monday, September 28, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.

Jacob's Pillow Welcomes Andrea Sholler as General Manager

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces today that Andrea Sholler, former Associate Director of The Tow Foundation and Executive Director of Dance Theater Workshop, will join the organization as General Manager. Sholler will assume the position on May 18, 2015, returning to the institution where she began her career from 1983 to 1985 as the Pillow's first Development Associate. Jacob's Pillow, located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, is a National Historic Landmark, National Medal of Arts recipient, and home to America's longest running dance festival.
