Brown University alumni Rebecca Bellingham and Katharine Powell Roman have founded a theater company, Sweet Chaos Theater Project, dedicated to producing new plays about family where every ticket sold helps a family.  

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment announce the first show of their 2015-2016 season, FIRST DATE, music & lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, book by Austin Winsberg, musical direction by Brent Crayon, choreography by Lee Martino and directed by Nick DeGruccio.

Sweet Chaos Theater Project is launching their first show with Tipping Points at Symphony Space on Monday, September 28, 7 PM.

Now celebrating its 23rd Anniversary, The Blank Theatre's Nationwide Young  Playwrights Festival has chosen 12 plays by young playwrights aged 12-19 from seven different states. These plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in this year's festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, June 4-28.

FIRST DATE features a book by Austin Winsberg (Gossip Girl) and Music and Lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Secondhand Lions, Twice Charmed). The musical comedy is produced by Jeanne McInerney and First Date, LLC, and directed by J.R. Rose, with musical direction by Elizabeth Doran and choreography by Becky DeDecker. At a rapid-fire 90 minutes, FIRST DATE is a lighthearted, funny and romantic musical perfect for a real first date, a girls' night out or just a fun and entertaining experience at the theater. On select Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., FIRST DATE presents 'Love IQ,' featuring cast member John Keating and a Chicago celebrity. These interactive events test the audience's romantic intelligence as well as offer advice on hot topics such as online dating.
