On Thursday, August 22, 2013, TeCo Theatrical Productions will close its 2013 speakers series with an intimate conversation with acclaimed actor, playwright, and Broadway legend Eugene Lee. Now in its second year, the series was designed to support the creative community and educate a larger constituency in appreciating the arts through quarterly events at the Bishop Arts Theatre.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola has announced that Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff, will begin performances Friday, August 23 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical, surpasses Tobacco Road with 3,183 performances, becoming the 17th longest-running show in Broadway history, following the performance tonight, Wednesday, July 17.

MAMMA MIA!, the global smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will transfer from the Winter Garden Theatre to the Broadhurst Theatre this fall. BroadwayWorld has conformed that the show will play its final performance at the Winter Garden on October 19. Peformances will begin at the Broadhurst on November 2.

The Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) (Producing Artistic Director, Ty Jones), presents the Shakespeare classic A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Artistic Associate Justin Emeka this summer in Harlem's Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. Performances of the free play, which runs today, July 13-30 (on Tuesdays through Sunday) at 7:30 pm, are made possible by the Ford Foundation.

Edward Albee, three-time Pulitzer Prize and two-time Tony Award-winning playwright, will be recognized with the 2013 Chicago Tribune Literary Prize for lifetime achievement. The prize will be awarded on November 3 as part of a day of literary events co-presented by the Chicago Tribune's Printers Row program and the 24th annual Chicago Humanities Festival.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced the date and time for its July Gallery Crawl today. Tonight, July 12, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., the crawl will showcase a wide variety of thought provoking art exhibitions in downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District. As the summer heat rises, Horizon Theatre Company launches the Atlanta Premiere of every tongue confess by one of today's hottest playwrights Marcus Gardley. Imaginative director Thomas W. Jones II brings Gardley's passion-filled mystery to life with the help of original blues and gospel music by Composer and Music Director S. Renee Clark. Jones calls the work 'a highly theatrical rollercoaster ride that is both provocative and redemptive,' and continues, 'People will be healed by this play.'

The producers of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS are pleased to announce that Dominic Scaglione Jr. and Joseph Leo Bwarie will assume the role of Frankie Valli in the Broadway cast on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. A veteran of the Broadway company, Mr. Scaglione previously played this role to great acclaim in the Chicago and Las Vegas productions. Mr. Bwarie, who will be making his Broadway debut, played Frankie Valli to rave reviews across the country in the first national tour. John Lloyd Young will play his final performance as Frankie Valli on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

Actor Khalil Kain, who is known for edgy character roles on film and for the TV series 'Girlfriends,' will make his stage directing debut with Sam Shepard's 'Buried Child,' to be presented by Aaron Davis Hall as an Equity LORT/LOA production from tonight, July 11 to August 3. The production uses a multi-racial cast to reinterpret the underlying symbols of Shepard's landmark play, in which the misfortunes of a Midwestern farming family reveal both the demise and endurance of the American Dream.
