After sold out runs in Australia, the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) in association with Three Fish Productions presents Der Gelbe Stern (The Yellow Star) a new musical conceived and performed by NYMF's 'Next Broadway Sensation' winner Alexis Fishman*, written by James Millar & Alexis Fishman. Der Gelbe Stern is directed by Sharone Halevy and is being staged in its U.S. premiere at The Laurie Beechman Theater @ West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd Street (bet. 9th & 10th Avenues) in NYC for five performances from Monday, July 14 through Monday, July 21, 2014. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

New York Stage and Film and Vassar College, this summer celebrating the 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, announced that Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Kyra Sedgwick will lead the cast of Academy Award and Tony Award winner John Patrick Shanley's new play The Danish Widow, which will premiere July 16-27, 2014 at Hallie Flanagan-Davis Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College. Shanley also directs the cast which also includes multitalented Broadway vets Craig Bierko and Matt McGrath, as well as stage and screen actress Annika Boras.

Rachel Jett, Artistic Director of the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has named director, playwright, and book writer Jonathan Bernstein as the artistic head of the Institute's new program, the National Music Theater Institute (NMTI).

Atlantic Theater Company presents the world premiere production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' play BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY, directed by Austin Pendleton and starring Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colon, Liza Colon-Zayas, Tony Award nominee Stephen McKinley Henderson, Michael Rispoli, and Ray Anthony Thomas. The production begins previews Thursday, July 10 and will open Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Saturday, August 16, 2014 off-Broadway at Atlantic's main stage Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street). A Red Orchid Theatre (Kirsten Fitzgerald, Artistic Director; Rebecca Easton, Managing Director), Chicago's critically acclaimed resident theater company, in association with Bisno Productions (Debbie Bisno, Roberta Pereira), have announced the launch of a new collaborative partnership, A Red Orchid NYC. The newly launched initiative, here in New York, fulfills the expanded mission of the Chicago based company to introduce the Ensemble's original new works to a national audience.

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie has set the 11th season at the CTG/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City.

Huntington Theatre Company concludes its 2013-2014 Season with Smart People, a sharp and provocative new comedy by Huntington Playwriting Fellow Lydia R. Diamond. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (The Power of Duff) helms the newest play from the author of the Huntington's 2010 hit production of Stick Fly. Performances of Smart People began at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA on May 23. Due to popular demand, the run has been extended to Sunday, June 29, 2014.

New Repertory Theatre announces an encore presentation of Deborah Margolin's IMAGINING MADOFF, May 28 through June 3, 2014 at the Boston University Theatre Lane-Comley Studio 210. Nominated for two 2014 Elliot Norton Awards (Outstanding Production; Outstanding Actor, Jeremiah Kissel), IMAGINING MADOFF is co-presented with Boston Center for American Performance (BCAP) and is directed by Elaine Vaan Hogue.

PROFILE THEATRE presents BURIED CHILD Sam Shepard's macabre play about twisted family secrets, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1979. Directed by Adriana Baer, performances begin tonight, May 29, 2014 on the Alder Stage at Artists Repertory Theatre.
