Atlantic Theater Company's world premiere new musical FOUND, directed by Lee Overtree, featuring a book by Tony Award® nominee Hunter Bell ([title of show]) and Lee Overtree, music and original lyrics by Eli Bolin and choreography by Monica Bill Barnes, began performances September 18 Off Broadway at Atlantic Theater Company at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street). Steppenwolf Theatre Company launches its 2014/15 Subscription Season with the Chicago premiere production of The Night Alive by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson. Henry Wishcamper directs a cast featuring ensemble members Francis Guinan and Tim Hopper with Helen Sadler, Dan Waller and M. Emmet Walsh. The world premiere of The Night Alive was produced at London's Donmar Warehouse in 2013. The Night Alive began previews September 18, 2014 (opening night is September 28; press performances are September 27 at 3pm and September 30 at 7:30pm) and runs through November 16, 2014 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Continuing The Public Theater's mission to make theater accessible to all, The Public announced today that free tickets will be given out to the first performance of every mainstage show in The Public's 2014-15 downtown season at Astor Place.

ON THE TOWN and TodayTix, the Broadway ticket app, just announced Broadway's first ever mobile lottery, offering $20 day-of tickets to the iconic musical comedy. The new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN,directed by John Rando (Tony Award® for Urinetown) and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse (Emmy Award winner for 'Smash') officially opens on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Broadway's Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036).

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is now accepting scripts for development during the 2015 National Playwrights Conference. Applicants may submit works to the O'Neill's Open Submissions Process through Friday, October 17, 2014.

The world premiere of Jordan Harrison's 'Marjorie Prime' will open September 21, 2014, at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. Directed by Obie Award-winner Les Waters, the profound and engaging new play begins previews tonight, September 10 at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. Performances continue through October 19, 2014.

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, joins acclaimed partner companies EST/Youngblood, Naked Angels, Studio 42, and Waterwell at The Green Building in Brooklyn with GAP Presents! The Green Plays, five new short plays by Hanna Cheek/Lauren Cregor Devine/Rodney Gardiner/Kevin Townley (Waterwell/ Goodbar), Meaghan Deans (Studio 42/ Ashore, Internet Famous), Jason Kim (Naked Angels/ HBO's Girls), Victor Lesniewski (F*It Club/ Cloven Tongues), and Chris Sullivan (EST/Youngblood/ Metro Cards).

Obie Award-winner Les Waters will direct the world premiere of Jordan Harrison's profound and engaging 'Marjorie Prime' at the Center Theatre Group / Mark Taper Forum, tonight, September 10 through October 19, 2014. The opening is set for September 21.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). The Royale will run October 4 to November 2 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run October 4 - 8. Opening night is Thursday, October 9 at 8:00 p.m.

For those who didn't have the opportunity to meet the cast of the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's "Within the Law" at the opening night after-show party at Aleathea's Restaurant on September 17th, another chance is to be had on Friday, September 26 at an after-show Q&A. It's a wonderful opportunity for patrons to ask such questions as "why do they do what they do?" and "how does one find these scripts?"

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre (DMT) is excited to announce the first production in the 2014-2015 'Bare Bones' staged reading series: the West Coast premiere of "WHAT RHYMES WITH AMERICA" by Melissa James Gibson, a quirky, poignant funny-sad play about lost souls and the partially examined life.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre will open its 50th anniversary celebration with the Kansas City premiere of David Cromer's Our Town, an enduring American story which examines the everyday lives of an average town's citizens in the early twentieth century. Our Town, one of the greatest American plays written by Thornton Wilder, the three-time Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and novelist will be directed by David Cromer, MacArthur Foundation 'genius' grant recipient and director of KC Rep's 2009 production of The Glass Menagerie which received national and local critical acclaim. This co-production with UMKC Theatre will feature redesigned seating at Spencer Theatre in the James C. Olson performing Arts Center on the UMKC campus. The show will run tnight, September 5 through 28th.

Soho Rep. and The Play Company, in association with John Adrian Selzer, announce casting and the creative team for the U.S. premiere of debbie tucker green's generations. The production, September 30-October 26, reunites the playwright with director Leah C. Gardiner, who worked together on the OBIE Award-winning 2011 production of born bad. generations features a 12-person community chorus led by music director Bongi Duma (The Lion King). The cast includes Shyko Amos (An Octoroon), Mamoudou Athie, Khail Toi Bryant (The Lion King), Ntombikhona Dlamini (Sarafina!), Thuli Dumakude (The Lion King, Poppie Nongena), Jonathan Peck (The Lion in Winter) and Michael Rogers (born bad, Breakfast With Mugabe).

The Lark Play Development Center named five New York City-based playwrights as Playwrights' Workshop Fellows for the 2014-15 season. The group spans a wide range of backgrounds and professional experiences and will meet regularly throughout the year to develop new plays.
