Aurora Theatre Company continues its 18th season with Henrik Ibsen's rarely-produced masterwork JOHN GABRIEL BORKMAN, in a new version by David Eldridge. Aurora Theatre Company founding Artistic Director Barbara Oliver, who directed the company's hit production of Ibsen's The Master Builder, returns to helm this fiercely relevant drama, featuring Bay Area stage veteran James Carpenter (The Master Builder) in the title role, and stage and television actress Karen Grassle (Little House on the Prairie) in her Aurora debut.

Laurel Mill Playhouse, located at 508 Main Street in historic Laurel, MD., presents All My Sons by Arthur Miller. Directed by Tom Schneider, assisted by Barbara Gasper and produced by Maureen Rogers, this drama opened April 23. Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc., performances run weekends through May 8 with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8 p.m. There will be one Sunday matinee on May 2 at 2pm.

Classic Stage Company (CSC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will present two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest in THE FOREST, by Alexander Ostrovosky, translated by Kathleen Tolan, and directed by Brian Kulick, beginning performances Friday, April 23 at CSC with an official press opening Thursday, May 6 at 7pm. THE FOREST will also star Obie Award-winning actor John Douglas Thompson, who earned great acclaim last year for his title role performance in Othello at Theatre for a New Audience. THE FOREST will play a limited engagement through Sunday May 30 only.

Hamingson) announced complete casting for the one-night-only benefit reading of Ariel Dorfman's play SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER: Voices From Beyond The Dark, adapted from Kerry Kennedy's book of the same name, on Monday, May 3 at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the reading will benefit the relief efforts of Habitat for Humanity in Chile.

The focus for this evening will be the idea of individualism, examining Aurora Theatre Company's production of Henrik Ibsen's family drama John Gabriel Borkman (1896) and its aristocratic version of the 'Industrial Dream' in light of Miller's family drama about the middle-class and the 'American Dream,' penned 50 years later.
