For the first time, Art House will be cultivating a group of playwrights as part of the INKubator program's new play development initiative. Selected playwrights will meet on a monthly basis between October 2018 and May 2019 to share their work and further the growth of a specific piece that each playwright is developing. Alex Tobey, resident director of the program, will be joined by special guests each month (playwrights, directors, dramaturgs, literary managers) who will moderate conversations focused on peer feedback, guidance, and personalized support for each playwright's individual process. In the spring, each writer will team up with a professional director to present a public reading or workshop performance as a part of the new annual Jersey City Spring Festival of New Plays.

New York City Center President & CEO Arlene Shuler today announced Anne Kauffman as Artistic Director of Encores! Off-Center for the 2019 season. Founding Artistic Director Jeanine Tesori will maintain her relationship with the popular summer series as Creative Advisor - working with Kauffman to curate programming which will conclude City Center's 75th Anniversary Season. GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS will release the original cast recording of the critically-acclaimed new musical Hundred Days in digital and streaming formats on Friday, September 21. A physical CD release will follow later this year. Hundred Days features a book by The Bengsons and Sarah Gancher, music and lyrics by The Bengsons. The show was directed by Anne Kauffman with movement direction by Sonya Tayeh.

Six directors and 30 actors from the Chicago theatre community will collaborate to create staged readings of six new feminist plays in the Artemisia Fall Festival 2018, to be performed September 24-26 and October 1-3 at The Edge Theater at 5451 N. Broadway. Artemisia Founding Artistic Director Julie Proudfoot and Literary Manager Sharai Bohannon have curated the festival from submissions solicited from writers, agents and literary managers across the US with whom the company has had working professional relationships. One play from the six to be performed will be chosen for further development by Artemisia Artistic Director Proudfoot, who will work closely with the playwright over the next two years to develop their feminist story for a full production in Chicago.

Capital Stage launches its 14th season with the Sacramento Premiere of the 2017 Pultizer Prize Finalist The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe. This dramatic comedy follows nine teenage girls that make up the Wolves, an indoor soccer team, warming up before each game of the season. As they warm up and talk about life, the girls navigate the politics of their personal lives as well as politics of the larger world. Each team member struggles to discover their individuality while being part of the group. The resulting bonds that form are clear and undeniable. The Wolves will be directed by renowned Bay Area Actor and Director Nancy Carlin. It will be the first production of Capital Stage's 2018/19 Season: #SearchingForAmerica. Performances will run from August 29 - September 30, 2018 with a Press Opening on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

In HORSETALE, part of Family Fringe, a Horse and his Tail become separated and in their search for each other, find themselves. HTL! weaves together handmade shadow puppetry, three vintage overhead projectors, live original folk music, and American iconography to tell a story as wild and expansive and intimate as the West itself.
